Easy class, easy grade. NPO was incredibly hard though, but other than that it was smooth sailing!

Okay, this is a correction to couple of harsh comments I made on her couple of years ago. I regret making those. she is tough prof teaching some tough materials. If you can do good in her class, you are on a good track for CPA. I still use her notes. They are gold.

Loretta is an amazing prof. One of my favorites at the ASoB. The material is VERY easy, but EXTREMELY heavy so as long as you go, listen, ask questions and spend 5-7 hours / week on it, youll do well. Just listen to what she has to say and respect her requests and you'll love her as much as I did. She is very accessible and a VERY generous grader.

If you work hard in this class it is an easy pass. She is fairly honest with the work required and I think intends to encourage people to succeed. However, she is a bit if a megalomaniac and it can venture in to being disrespectful. I don't like her fill in the blank notes, because it is not an engaging teaching style.

The content is very very hard..... however she is a good prof. Her lecture style is fairly boring but shes very knowledgeable and extremely smart. She seems intimidating but shes actually very nice if you need to go in for one on one help.

Basically, to do well you should do all the practice questions, read the assigned readings and know the notes well. If you put time into this class you will do well.

This class is very difficult, be prepared to dedicate a lot of time and effort into this. Attend every single class and pay attention, and many, many practice problems need to be done multiple times in order to be prepared for her exams. Loretta is a great professor and is very knowledgable.

Be prepared to do a lot of review & problems. Loretta's material is hard. But once you contribute a lot of time doing her problem set, you will be fine. I did most of the problems at least twice and I found it very helpful. You can always predict what will be in the exam when you finish the problems. Loretta herself is very helpful. I like her.

I failed the first midterm but then got my act together and came out with a b-. All you need to do is go to class, take notes and do the questions she assigns. Try to really understand the problems as you're doing them, they are really long. This class taught me a lot about working hard. Email her or go see her, she's a good prof

Toughest class I have ever taken. I would reccomend doing atleast 6 of the questions for each chapter. Each question takes 3ish hours. So start early!!! She uses an outdated teaching method. You dont need her at all just her lil notes. The class is only tough because of the way its structured. it is hell. they need a new prof. unapproachable rude.

Well the comments mentioned already describe her perfectly. So here is the summary: - If you want a career in accounting, she's your prof - Respected & Stern Teacher - Go to Class, her lectures are important - Do the practice questions, twice - Dont talk or text in class, she will call you out - Class is definitely do-able with effort

Accounting majors ready to take the material seriously, this is your prof. She has a hilarious dry sense of humor, which you'll either love or be afraid of. Give yourself the time to do the problems she assigns, twice if possible, and you will get an A on the exam. Simple as that. If you're above average the curve will help you out immensely.

Loretta teaches in a way that forces you to really understand the material, and applying it to her exams, instead of simply memorizing methods. The textbook problems are a lot easier than her exams but they build basic skills and knowledge. She is a fair grader, and honestly wants students to retain the material, and develop skills for CPA!

Her teaching style of speaking very quickly while making you copy notes is the reason why you will not learn anything in class. You are assigned tremendous amounts of questions the vast majority of which do not teach skills applicable to the exams. The last few questions are the only ones that do.

Loretta is the hardest professor I have had in University, although she is a brilliant teacher who really knows her stuff, she must love giving students exams that they can barely pass. Even if you go over her practice problems 3 times, expect her midterms and final to be that much harder. Nothing can prepare you for her exams.

Loretta is a very demanding but extremely good professor. Students taking 467 will gripe about her, but for those who survive in 468, shell be a savior. Shes no nonsense, but very knowledgeable. You will use her notes a ton if you go into the tax profession. She has a tough approach, but it will pay off greatly in the future if you put the work in.

To be fair to her she is an expert in this field, not a teacher. Learning is completely up to the student. As much as she says she is preparing students for CPA, "swim or sink" is her teaching style. She takes a great pride in making touch exam without teaching anything. All you will be doing listening and writing!Waste of time!

Comment:
Doing textbook questions are a must, as her it provides you knowledge of the basic fundamentals. She explains the notes with great clarity, however, writing notes while simultaneously listening to what she is saying is difficult. Asking her questions one on one may make you feel stupid at first, but her explanations are entirely worth it.
