Take detailed notes during class. With her lectures alone, you don't need the textbook. Regurgitate all the info on tests and you'll be fine. Papers and test essays compose most of your grade, and she is picky with writing, so be sure to take her feedback on your writing seriously. Long lectures, but overall a kind professor and interesting course

This class is probably one of the hardest fine arts classes at TCU, so if it's not for your major don't take it. Diel grades both essays and essay questions insanely hard. The lectures are boring and are easy to fall asleep during since the room is dark for slide shows. Final is cumulative, has 80 art pieces, and is worth a quarter of your grade.

This is the hardest class I have ever taken. I studied harder for this class than I did any of my other classes this past semester and I BARELY passed with credit. Would not take again. Unreasonably difficult for an undergraduate course.

She is very knowledgeable about the subject. Tests are mostly writing, but are manageable. All the information you'll need to know for the tests is discussed in class. Participation is encouraged and this helps lectures to be more interesting. With this prof, this class is not as bad as people say art history classes normally are.

One of hardest classes I've ever taken. Professor is demanding and sticks to the syllabus. Attendance is necessary to know anything that is happens during classes, as the pictures she chooses mostly don't have any evaluation online. It's a tough class. Definitely not for people not interested in Art history and Mexico itself.

Great teacher! I am not a good test taker and although I felt like I never had time to answer all of the essays, I still ended up with a B in that class. She really knows what she is talking about and loves art. You don't need a textbook because she will give you all the information you need in class.

I took intro to art history and loved it! However, there is a ton of pieces you need to memorize and the final is cumulative. Tests are long and involve essays and multiple choice questions. I learned so much though and I'm glad I took it.

You should take any art history class from this teacher. She is very informed of the information she is teaching. She is very willing to give her analyzation of artworks to aid you in your interpretation. I am not an art history major, but I had no problem in her Art of Mexico class.

Wonderful class that has information that will honestly help with future classes in unexpected ways. Study diligenlty for tests (flashcards are key) and try your best on the essay assignments, which she grades incredibly hard. Enthusiastic professor and interesting class. Take if you can!

With the writing assignments, she could have been more clear with what content she wanted because she kept changing her mind. Her tests are somewhat easy but she is a hard grader with writing and can be contradicting with what she tells you to do.

unbelievably inconsistent in what she wants in your papers, i had two professors edit my paper and they said that it was quality however she seemed to disagree. Her tests are long and she is often unclear about what information she wants you to know for the tests themselves (which of the 80 pieces you'll look at for the three tests).

This class is very interesting, but it does require a lot of work. I did not have a problem doing so, with Art History being my major, but if you are taking it for fun, keep that in mind. Lectures are pertinent. Also, the papers are graded pretty hard, so keep them clear and concise and never make assumptions about the piece you are writing on.

Honestly, this course was challenging. I was not expecting to learn so much about art. Tests were mostly essay and about a few pieces of art out of 40-50 pieces. There is one paper you have to do. Final consists of a 5 page essay. Not bad...actually became a much better writer after taking this course. She is nice and helpful.

tough teacher. inconsistent in what she wants. sometimes unsure of information about the pieces she teaches and expects you to know it for the test. very picky grader for essays and paper. as an english major, she had a problem with my wording which was not grammatically incorrect. my eng. prof. thought it was well written, which she didnt.

I dreaded the class but ended up loving it. She is very nice and makes it clear what will be on the tests. The class itself requires a lot of memorization, but it's definitely possible to get an A. There is a lot of emphasis on writing, so it will be easier for you if you're a good writer.

she is really nice and pretty laid back. that class itself was kinda borring, not because of her, but just the nature of the class. try not to take it early in the morning, because you sit in the dark looking at slides the whole time. perfect to fall asleep. she makes it very clear the info that you will need for the test, but its alot of studying.

The chick thinks she is an English teacher, she grades papers extremely hard. Tests are fair, if you study your notes, and memorize...memorize...memorize you will do well. I recommend placing the artwork on notecards to study.
