Lubin is honestly so sweet! She's funny and makes astronomy really enjoyable. Her lectures are very long & she will sometimes go on a tangent on unrelated astronomy stuff, but if you read the textbook, you will pass (class is curved). There is some physics math related so be aware, but its not too bad. Even though I struggled, I still love Lubin.

Lectures are mandatory since she uses clickers and a lot of reading. Weekly homework assignments are 2-3 pages and are graded. Two midterms and one final but the study guides are confusing. I wish dropped this class

Lubin is an amazing professor! Her class is pretty challenging and you have to work for it, but she is extremely accessible and always helps with homework during her office hours.

Fairly reading intensive, but both the homework and the weekly quizzes are easy and manageable. Exams are definitely a notch up in difficulty, but not too bad. Occasional boring lectures. Overall, a very enthusiastic and interesting professor and a GE that's moderately easy to do well in.

Prof. Lubin is really nice and a good teacher. She is enthusiastic about material, answers questions well, and tries to make class easy to pass. Tests are a bit difficult, just make sure you study. Hmwk weighs a lot and isn't too difficult, and neither are the weekly quizzes. Can be boring, but cool material. Overall, fair prof. Would take again!

One of the world's best astronomers, right at your fingertips. Very easy GE class, especially if you have even an ounce of knowledge about physics or chemistry. The tests weren't the easiest things in the world, but the curve was good.

This class was difficult to me, easy for others. Lots of material to cover, especially if you have no prior chemistry experience. Her enthusiasm is the only really I stayed.

Professor Lubin is very enthusiastic about what she teaches. You can tell that she loves Astronomy and wants to share her knowledge with the world. The only thing about her is that you have to get used to her Mickey Mouse voice. LOTS of reading with weekly homework and take home quizzes. Very interesting but not an easy A.

Easy class for those who have recent experience with chem, physics and some math. Personally did not enjoy the class at all. It was challenging for me to pass homework assignments and exams with a passing score. Do not recommend if you expect this to be an easy A. Not anything like I expected.

I loved Mrs. Lubin. She is quirky and passionate and she even made dryer chapters enjoyable. Her grading criteria isn't clear and this is especially dangerous on short answer tests where it's easy to misinterpret the questions. Her study guides are very helpful. I highly recommend this class though for a mind-blowing perspective on the universe.

Professor Lori is a very enthusiastic. I enjoyed her class and really appreciate it. The material itself is hard to accept sometimes because astronomy is a very broad subject. However, her teaching just makes the class more enjoyable. She holds review sessions and generally cares that you do well IF you put in the effort.

She's a pretty good prof. Her lectures jumped around a lot, so it was hard to take organized notes. She's super enthusiastic and always willing to help. It takes a little bit to get used to her voice, though. Tests were not too bad, and she uses a decent curve. Grade went: quizzes 10%, homework 25%, clicker questions 5%, three tests 20% each.

She is very enthusiastic about teaching, everything is off her powerpoints. Attendance is not mandatory but she gives participation credit for clicker questions. Her tests aren't to bad especially if you study and she curves pretty well. Not a super easy A, but an easy B.

The class is easy if you pay attention! Her lectures are posted online, there is a weekly quiz with four questions and the answers can be found in the book. As long as you pay attention, take notes, and read or skim the text you should get a clear understanding. Hw assignments once a week too

Even though science isn't my thing, I enjoyed this class. She posts all the power points for lecture online before class, look at them first so you can listen in lecture. Grade based on weekly hw, weekly quizzes, and 2 midterms and a final. You don't HAVE to read, but I found certain things easier to understand in the text.

This was by far one of the most enjoyable classes I had this quarter. She can be a bit of an air-head when speaking, but she's very knowledgeable and you will a good deal about modern Astronomy from her. Some say AST10G is difficult, but the class isn't hard, it's just people don't seem to understand basic physics and logic...
