I took her because I had to, and it was a service learning class. Didn't use the books (if anything referenced them in papers). She gives out three papers that determines the final grade, but she's an easy grader. She encourages participation, but it isn't required. I would take her again, easy A.

Dr. Simons is not only a brilliant educator, she also genuinely cares about her students. She's not an "easy" professor, but once you get out of school you will realize the value of professors who expected more from you & pushed you further, and how little those "easy A" professors added to your professional development. - (Ph.D Doctoral Student)

Best Professor at Widener! She is very helpful. Also, she is very energetic, she will keep you awake during early classes! I have learned a lot from her classes. She really helps students get jobs and cares about every students future!

I had Dr. Simons both semesters my freshman year and she is seriously the best! Her probes are taken straight from her notes and she grades them fairly, often adding on a "sprinkle of love," as she would call it. My biggest piece of advise is to participate, she loves class interaction and it tends to inspire extra credit points.

Loved her she was great, every time I had her. She does not have favorites and the only way you could do poorly in the class is if you are a real dummy b/c she always gives chances for people to do well. She has a lot of fun stories and is experienced in the field. Please don't get mad if you are not savy enough to complete the work.
