I took this professor when I was a freshman. I am now a senior and have since moved on to a university, however, she is still the worst teacher I have ever encountered in my college career. Very degrading demeanor. Very picky about work. Didn't really learn much. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS!

Mrs. Maltby is the best professor I have had at HCC. She is so knowledgable about what she teaches. You can tell she truly enjoys her job. She also the transfer coordinator for HCC and does an awesome job at that as well. She knows just about everything you need to know about transferring from one college to the next. She is a great professor!

My favorite professor at HCC. She knows her subject and loves to help students if you're willing to put effort forward. Friendly to all students even if they try to argue with her or are not respectful. You will learn a lot from her. Recommend highly!

Well, I'm not even halfway through with the semester, but I thought I'd review early. She hasn't graded any of our assignments, I contacted her to see where our first exam was located and she never even replied.How can we know how to improve our work if we don't receive feedback? Do not take this class online.

I've never written anything on this site before but felt a duty to all students at HCC to do so. She's mean and degrading and spends too much time on silly things and doesn't know how to get information out properly. She knows her stuff but it's not worth the over abundance of work and her condescending personality.

Maltby is very picky about the work you turn in and what you do during class (ie no sleeping, texting- ANYTHING but give her your undivided attention!)It will seem more like an English class than a HIS or POL class. 90% of the wrk done in the class is essays and she grades them very hard!! Be prepared to spend a lot of time & effort on her classes!

I've been in 3 of her classes.She is a great teacher one of my favorites. Why on earth she is teaching at HCC is beyond me, she should be teaching at a 4 year college. Go to class, take good notes, write your critical reviews. You'll do fine in the class.
