Comment:
Prof. Carroll is such an intelligent and well-spoken Professor, it is a shame she allows her extremist left-wing politics to color her curriculum. Reading is all meticulous propaganda, designed to indoctrinate young millennials with regressive intersectional ideology, Socialism, and an anarchist perspective towards conservative traditional values.

Lorrayne is such a great professor for an introductory course into women and gender studies. There is a lot of reading ahead of class. For selected readings, you must write a reading response that reflects your understanding of the topic. Participation matters in the class. She puts people into groups sometimes to discuss a reading due for the day.

Heavy course load. Will fail you if you don't pass in all assignments. Some of the reading is offensive and explicit. She is very smart and cares about her students

Lorrayne is very smart and knowledgeable. The course load is quite heavy. The book we read at the end of the semester (Gender Outlaws)is not for anyone who is easily offended. Some sections are very sexual with a lot of profanity. Her policy is that if you do not pass in EVERY assignment you will fail

Professor Carroll is outstanding! She is very helpful and a great teacher. I am taking another class with her next semester. One thing about this class is it's a lot of time with service learning, not the class for a busy student!

You will never find a better Professor than Professor Carroll. She is an exceptional teacher. I took three classes with her, and I benefited tremendously from each one. Do not pass up an opportunity to take one of Professor Carroll's classes, you will not regret it!

Professor Carroll is probably great for someone taking her classes that actually wants to major in her subject, but she thinks her class is the only one that exists and assigns crazy workloads for people only taking the class to fill a core requirement.

The Literacy class was demanding but rewarding. The required service project element helped to ground the theories we learned. Her lectures are well-delivered, with passion and knowledge that is evident from conversations outside of class. Participation is huge, as is attendance. Be sure to read the texts before class because they are heavily used.

Her emphasis on "Service learning" is a pain and not for anyone with a job. Only take a class with her if you have time to kill. Her papers will kill it dead. It helps not to be too smart - otherwise you'll spend the entire semester wondering how "Literacy" managed to subvert and consume the words for "intellegence" and "education." Oh! Academia!

Prof. Carroll is a true all-star in the English department at USM. She's not an easy grade by any stretch of the imagination. In fact, she gave two times as much work as you'd normally receive in a 3-credit class, but she's very fair and very helpful. Plus, she's Nik Caner-Medley's step mom. Word.
