Comment:

Obviously a psychoanalyst and aside from touching on them for the purposes of the class, he ignores other schools of psychology. I feel like I was jipped. His views on mental illnesses are also ill informed and dated.

A class I would normally be interested in was made extremely boring by Dr. Gentile. Smart man, knows his stuff, does not do a good job teaching it. No visual aids just long, boring lectures. Note taking is a must! Only gives out 2 tests and no other assignments all semester. (Including no hw) Tests are very difficult and require a lot of studying.

There is only two tests on this class and that's your grade. No extra credit. He speaks fast and it is hard to take notes. If you ask him to repeat what he said he will give you something completely different from before. The Book doesn't help at all... It doesn't have everything he covered on the lectures and it's very expensive.

I loved the class! He is very clear with telling you that you have to show up for class because tests are based on notes in class,not a lot of use of the book and no papers to write. It was an 8am class so a lot of people were late or didn't show and they struggled. If you attend and take notes and study, you will do fine. Only homework was study!

He explanation is good. But he doesn't listen. The test are really old, and crowded, very confusing. I kill myself studying and the test still confusing. If you take his clases google and practice quizees online about the chapters. Thats old I can help you with. :-(

Dr. Gentile takes some getting used to. He does a straight lecture and there is a lot of note-taking. If you pay attention he may surprise you with his wit and knowledge of what he is teaching. I wish there had been more in-class aids like videos and examples, but his stories as a therapist were helpful. Study hard!

had him for abnormal psychology. he is not a loud talker, so i would recommend sitting in the front row of class. not that down to earth. when you talk to him, he does not make eye contact, it seems like he's always in a rush to do something else. overall i steer clear of him when i'm making my schedule. and i do not recommend taking class with him
