Such a nice guy and he loves what he teaches! Only take this class if you are honestly interested in religion and politics and how they work together. There are only two tests, but short multiple choice questions weekly. Read roughly 5- pgs. per week along with a 1-2 page paper about what you read. He drops the two lowest paper grades.

You must be willing to write and read weekly to do well in his class. Your grade on papers will be based on grammar for the most part. He always wants evidence to back up opinions. I enjoyed his class because I was really into the subject but if you are taking it just to fulfill a requirement, I'd suggest taking something easier.

He has retired 2 or 3 times and at one point was a dean. He loves the subject and it comes easy to him since he has read the books a million times and expects you to be on his level. There is a lot of out of class reading that you can't really avoid. Not the class that I thought I was signing up for.

Nice and means well, but the class is not a discussion/debate class as I thought. Requires a TON of reading and from absolute boring books. Class is listening to him lecture & answering his questions. He will only accept answers that match what he is looking for word-for-word. You better be VERY MUCH into Religion & Politics to survive this class.
