class is a joke. reading quizzes are ridiculous and nit-picky to make sure you read. have nothing to do with history. "chases rabbits" in lectures and often boring and unclear. exams are also very hard. he gave our class study guides for some of the exams but none of the material on the SG was on the exam. unfortunately he is the only ch hist prof

I am going to have to say that I did not like Dr. Allen's teaching style. I know he is funny and a nice guy, and I did enjoy his lectures, but the reading quizes were not only not helpful they were ridiculous in nature. He was more concerned about making sure we had read the book then teaching us actual concepts of church history.

One of the best professors I have ever had. Influenced me a ton. Didn't have him at Mercer, but when he was at another college. Take his classes! You won't regret it.
