Dr. Mao one of the greatest human beings you will ever encounter. He is brilliant, friendly, and incredibly humble considering his accomplishments. He will help you pursue your own interests while teaching you about cultural exchange. You should take any class he offers or just seek him out for a chat--the experience will change your life.

Of all my professors at Miami, Dr. Mao was my favorite. Not only did he know his grammar, but he knew how to explain it clearly. After having his course, taking graduate grammar courses is a piece of cake! If you have the opportunity to take him, jump on it.

Dr. Mao was probabaly one of the most helpful and friendly profs I encountered at Miami. He cares about his students and his subject. Not to mention he is damn funny at times when he gets worked up.
