Amazing teacher on the best and inspirational lectures. Test were about his lecture and his papers. Sadly he is retiring this year but was a great teacher. The first time I seen everyone in class happy to be there.

I really have no idea why anyone would ever complain about professor barber! He really mind blows you with philosophy &makes it so interesting! I never wanted to miss class. The protocol papers are easy not difficult at all! & he gives you the answers to the study guide which are the test. If you do the work there is no way you can fail

Comment:

Took Luke for Maymester Intro to Ethics online. The texts were pretty short and the assignments not too hard. He wants you to succeed and to make you think. Participation is necessary but you want to participate in his class. It was a thought provoking class & if you participate & do the work, you'll get an A.

Professor Barber has days where his lectures are interesting and some days that they are not. His tests are exactly from the study guide so if you do the study guides you will have no problem getting an A. He is a little tough at grading protocol papers though so beware that it is unlikely that you will receive a perfect score on those.

If you are ultra conservative, extremely anti choice, homophobic, and closed minded about your faith and beliefs, this class will not be easy for you. If you can keep an open mind and post logic based responses to the discussion boards, review for your quizzes, and write a decent paper that summarizes your reading, then you should get an easy A.

He makes philosophy so interesting, so much so that you will want to show and learn and question everything that's talked about. If you love philosophy and want to absorb as much as possible DEFINITELY TAKE HIS CLASS YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

PROS: Knows his stuff, is interesting, and will challenge you to think differently and be more open. Responds quickly. CONS: Very arrogant, expects perfection on YOUR papers when most of the materials he provides have terrible spelling and grammar. Friendly, but it comes across as very phony. His email replies seem half-interested and curt.

Highly recommend this professor. One of the most interesting and thought provoking classes I have ever taken. Took wintermester, a lot of work. As long as you keep up it is very easy. Gives study guides for tests, papers are simple, must have books!! You will absolutely LOVE him! Very helpful!

The best Professor ever! he has a really kind heart he is very wise and really makes you interested in the topics. He is willing to help in any way and offers reviews right before the test where he goes over study questions and answers. Amazing teacher!!

Professor Barber is by far the best professor I have had at Richland College, he cares about the material and about his students, he makes the class interesting and is enthusiastic about the subjects you cover. I would take his class over again if I had to. He is funny and easy going and clear in his expectations of his class. he is an A++ profess.

Loved loved loved this class! I took Professor Barber's Ethics class online and it was amazing. He keeps the class relevant, tests were easy and all you need to do is write a protocol paper once a week and participate in the discussion group- that's it! One of the best teachers I've ever had!
