Luke is a solid professor. He is knowledgeable about the material he is teaching and he gives lots of feedback about your writing. He encourages you to break the guidelines he gives about a piece of writing in order to produce true creative writing. He is a very easy going professor and cares about his student's success. I recommend taking him.

Luke is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. He genuinely cares about his students and wants to help them improve their writing and do their absolute best. He was witty, fun, inspiring, and just an all around great guy. Doesn't hurt that he's easy on the eyes either... lol

Luke is one of the best English professors I have ever had. He honestly just wants you to be the best writer you can be. He's willing to help out in anyway he can. TALK during the discussions he gives participation points at the end of the year that can boost your grade. Only 3 essays and usually lets class out early.

Loved this class. He is a great teacher and wants to hear what you think. Only 3 essays and they are short and easy. I would take this class again in a heartbeat and wish more professors were like him. He lets class out early almost every time. Talk about current events a lot but he keeps it very interesting.

Luke is a great professor.... he tells you to call him by his first name, only has 3 papers the entire semester, with few other assignments. He's very open minded and allows you to be creative, and speak your mind freely. I 10/10 recommend taking his class for whatever English he teaches!

Such a great teacher! Clearly goes through what is expected of the papers, turn in deadlines are soft and can talk to him and get help. Just wants you to develop your writing. Doesnt make you cite and is super calm and caring of students. Definitely would recommend!

Luke is a great professor. He really cares about his students and what is learned in his course. I took this course thinking it would be an easy A but this course was far more difficult than I thought. Your grade is dependent upon 100 points. No extra credit. We wrote two papers and had a few other assignments. I would take this course again.

Good professor. Gives great feedback. No exams. Just three workshop stories (1500 words) and review of classmates' stories. Talks about himself quite a bit, but you'll get over that. Overall, very chill class.

I was skeptical about taking an online creative writing course, but Professor Whisnant made it extremely easy to be "in class" through his lecture videos and handouts. He gave great margin notes for all the writing I did, and was very encouraging about sending my work out for publication. He made exploring creative writing fun and engaging.

Luke is great! He genuinely cares about his students and is very helpful. I took a night class for business writing with him and he made my Thursday evenings worth it. Not the easiest grader, but will do everything he can to help you be successful in his class. Take if you can!!

One of the most helpful professors I've ever had. He cares a lot about students learning the material. This is called an English class, but in reality you learn about writing speeches, business e-mails, and business memos for the real World. There isn't any old poetry or stories from the 17th century that are completely useless.
