Lulu Sun is the worst professor I have ever had in my entire college experience. She is not very specific in her instructions then turns around and expects us to know exactly what she wants. Her assignments are sporadic, her teaching style is terrible, and she has no qualms about failing students. I'm an Honors Program student and I got a D

I absolutely hate this professor. Yes I get it some people manage to do well in her classes but I honestly it is impossible! She doesn't give good feed back, she speaks too low and is very sensitive when you try to meet with her. I will never ever ever take her again in life.

She's really not that bad. Just go to class, read the poems, and participate. Everyone complains about the essay exams, but I got As on all of them without much effort. Just pretend like you really care, and she will be your best friend.

Honestly, Lulu Sun is a hard grader but as long as you try and put in the work that is required, you will pass the class. There's around four essays that are analytic assessments of the readings. If you have a question she will help you since she is unclear in her instructions. Overall, I had a great semester with her as my professor.

Honestly, her classes aren't that bad. She is a hard grader, but that makes you try harder to get better grades. She isn't always clear with instructions for papers, but as long as you analyze the readings you should be fine. Many people don't like her, but I think she's a great professor. Her classes are more of a discussion instead of lectures.

Dr. Sun was a great professor for my course. I had heard that she is difficult and she is. She expects people to put forth A LOT of effort, and if you aren't succeeding it is YOUR responsibility to determine why. "I completely understand what you mean." That will be her response to everything. This class is boring and I learned nothing to do with composition. It was an open forum to do with readings. Four papers are all that is required. She gives broad guidelines and grades harshly. Everyone is required to do a presentation and she doesn't explain that.

Sun is intelligent and generally nice.. a bit self-absorbed. Class is more like open forum about readings. Speaking at least 1x class/day boosts your grade. She lets certain students get carried away in their opinions. Easy work-load, but not for the quiet types. Definately has one brown-nose of a student.. not her fault though.

Worst professor at UMD. Class is based on readings & student-led discussions."Peer editing" for every paper. She makes vague specifications for papers, then gives bad grades & just writes "expand." No help outside of class- bumbling loon complaining about 'text lingo.' Every classmate was mad about their grades. I had all A's, except for her B-.

I try to avoid exaggerating about the quality of professors, but she was honestly the worst professor I've ever had in my academic career. Arbitrary grading system, worthless comments, students basically teach the class and she provides no knowledge. I learned nothing about composition. This was the first F I've ever received in my life. STAY AWAY.
