Okay, she is a very nice woman that clearly enjoys what she teaches and wants you to enjoy it just as much as she does. However, her scratch off exams are terrifying. If you test well during multiple choice exams you'll be great!

This class is extremely engaging and she is a hilarious prof. You have to be prepared to do the readings for the weekly quizzes. The quizzes are on textbook content which don't really relate to the lecture content. Overall good prof.

Took an environmental course thinking I would dread it but she made it fun. This course was engaging, relevant, and fun. You have to to read and do the work, but it's easier than it looks. She was super kind, extended our paper due date, and our weekly quizzes. She cared and understood we had other hard classes and bent around that.

Comment:

She's very nice, but she goes through lectures very quickly and doesn't follow the textbook. Also, her style of exams is a scratch card, which allows for part marks in multiple choice exams, yet I personally did not enjoy them. The way she words her exams is much different then how she explains it in class. Overall, I wouldn't recommend her.

Not your standard ultra-liberal, hippy professor you might expect to be teaching Environmental policy. Seems to have a very balanced and moderate stance. Will challenge your beliefs at some point. slow grading, but the exams are interesting. Not worth avoiding. Lots of videos and class discussion.

Very smart and stick to only facts, not "right-wing" ideals like others have said. Only people who don't like her are environmentalists who can't take criticism. Exam was stupid easy also. Remember to write down EVERY clicker question

She is a good professor and isn't "extreme right wing." She actually challenged a thesis of a pro-right wing. She sticks to the facts and that's that. She is the only professor ever had that sticks to the facts and not a left-wing bias. I guess people hate when a "right-wing" idea gets promoted...Since all classes are left-wing (Taken in Winter09).

she is a fantastic professor. i'd highly recommend her classes to most students. what students are mistaking for arrogance is actually just intelligence and confidence. she is actually really funny and easy to talk too. she is also not a crazy right winger, she listens to reason and strong arguments. she marks fair but doesn't have tolerance for BS

An overall awful lady - in AND outside of class. She helped our class out because of the faculty strike, and gave us 1/2 of the midterm questions before our test, so I found it easy. She has an "I'm better than you" attitude, and pushes her stupid/extreme right-winged views in her lectures. She leaves ENVIRONMENTALISTS who take her class angered.

She's a very cool prof, actually. Don't believe the ultra-right wing horror stories. Although she is on the right, her teaching isn't loaded with bias. She's funny, relaxed and treats you like adults. However, her midterms are absolutely ridiculous. Ridiculous. The most difficult midterm I've ever written. 63% of the class failed it. Look out.

For an online course, her midterms were very challenging. You have to read the chapters very thoroughly. The labs were extremely easy if you follow the instructions and she literally gives out the final exam questions before the final. She always responds to e-mails quickly and is always willing to clarify anything that you'll have trouble with.

Her lectures are not the greatest. She basically just goes through the webnotes, almost word for word. You still have to go because she puts questions on exams based on the movies she shows. Her multiple choice questions are killer! If you study hard, you'll be fine. DON'T get complacent! If you need help, she's very accomodating. Not a bird course

I've read some of the remarks and I couldn't disagree more. She is totally right wing but I really don't think that gets in the way of her teaching. She's also a fair marker and will curve the midterm if everyone does poorly. I recommend Media if you want to learn something that isn't being sold by the ultra-left communications department.
