Comment:
Lydia White is a huge name in bilingual acquisition, and for a reason. She presents material with the simplicity and calm of someone who has nothing to prove. Everything on the tests are on her slides (she does tend to read from them a bunch, but they are very clear and the material is interesting). Give amazing study guides!!

She is nice, but a very hard grader. Her classes are just her reading off the power point so you don't need to show up. Just doing the readings and reading the power points are enough to pass, but it is very difficult to get an A. She asks for the authors of articles so a lot of memorization.

Good prof overall. Explains things very articulately. The exams contain very detailed information about the material, including specific examples and the names of people who conducted the studies, so make sure you study those.

Arbituary grading. Doesn't indicate what she wants specifically in papers. Removes points for little mistakes here and there. Exams are only fair if you memorize her slides in and out, since she likes to ask about the researchers' NAME AND DATE OF STUDY. Expects us to know everything about ling, including syntax when it's not even a prerequisite.

She's super nice, a little monotone, but knows her stuff and answers questions very clearly. I don't know about the other comments, but I thought she was a pretty tough grader, and I do well in linguistics usually. If you do your work and study enough, it's not hard to pass though. The topics are super interesting and so are the projects!

With an adorable british accent, and style that says "I'm ready for the next safari," White is still very knowledgeable and totally on your side if you sleep through her final exam.

Horrible, harsh with giving grades, not the type of class to take "for fun". Biggest regret of my university life.

her lectures are kind of dry and straight-from-the-book, but she really knows her stuff, and it shows. she's also a really sweet woman in her stiff british way.
