Comment:

Wonderful woman and very knowledgeable about film and Italian culture. Class discussions were incredible, and Prof. Richards is super enthusiastic and passionate about the information. She's really great about meeting up outside of class for additional feedback and genuinely cares about her students. Fun class and not too difficult!

Comment:

I've never had her as a language teacher, so I can't comment on that, but more for all the MLL culturefilm classes that she teaches. She is incredibly bright. People might get turned off by her unconventional side but if what you're looking for is depth, complexity, and to really learn and push yourself intellectually she will facilitate that.

Comment:

Very smart woman. Her unconventionality turns some (boring) students off. She is willing to put a lot of time into each individual student. Super open, yet does not pick favorites. She is constantly reflecting and bettering herself so sometimes unpredictable in her grading but generally gracious. You can always communicate with her no matter what.

Took a film class with her. Great viewing list. Her discussions are weird and vague. In class she's not great at articulating what she wants to say. Office hours are helpful and they'll help you get a better grade. A lot of people think she's stupid but I just think she's not a great discussion leader. Nice lady though.

She's very nice and very willing to meet with you outside of class to clarify material. That said, she's very unorganized and often doesn't seem to notice when homework is due or who is attending class. She's a great professor if you're a self-starter and don't mind doing a little work on your own to gain a better understanding.

Wonderful, kind, enthusiastic lady. A little disorganized and crazy and sometimes she assigns things she never takes up, but she means well, and if you go to all the classes, ATs, and do all the work -- the rest isn't hard at all. She's always willing to meet with students as well.

Professoressa is an idiot who canNOT teach upper-level italian. I enjoyed her a LOT in intro last year but year she's so useless that she's made me hate the class. Her grading is equally ridiculous. She doesn't put effort into teaching us upper-levelers. Thank god for a new prof next semester

i think she works well for some who can see through to her empathetic personality. if you make it known that you are trying, that's all you need and she'll help you. she's a little neurotic but she's very kind as well.
