Worst professor I've had. It isn't that she's a tough grader, but before my final grade showed up at CUNY First I had no idea what grade I could expect. Why? Because she makes it easy for herself and just assign one textbook to her students with a great chunk to read without explaining what we will need to know. Sum of it all: confusing and boring!

I like Professor Day. She's understanding to the students personal needs. You have to write 8 mini assignments and 1 large assignment. She knows her stuff inside and out. I enjoyed her class. However, you have to do a lot of reading. It seems like she wants to find your full potential. She knows when a student isn't giving their best work.

Day is a smart woman and you will learn some interesting things in her class but she is not very nice. Although she say's she is open to your opinions, that is not completely true. If you take her course just make sure you do not go against her ideas, openly. You have to be a good writer if you want an A, grammar and fluidity is very important.

I think this is the first grad course she has ever taught b/c she acts as though its undergrad. Hardly teaches at all - the course is all student presentation. She falls asleep too! There were no percentages given on the syllabus, so no one has any idea how much assignments are worth. Very unprofessional, although very easy.

Informative and knowledgeable, but can b rude. 4example: always late(15-20 minutes, never apologises just stroll thru as if she's early, after we(students) were contemplating is the class canceled, while waiting in the hall. 4 the final she was 30min late; I never had a professor that was late for the finals and I have 3 degrees, so u do the math.

She is condescendning, rude, and not very nice. She has her moments. She definitely knows her stuff. Her Africa stories are amazing. Be prepared to participate. It's required. I don't think she's teaching anymore though. She got a promotion as a chairperson or something. Lucky for you!!!

this professor lacks any teaching skills and i left the class with very little knowledge of africa. She was very bias and her exams are rediculous. What history professor includes multiple choice on an exam. If you want to learn about africa read some books, do not rely on prof. day.
