Dr. Santiago is an excellent educator. As someone whose done a bachelor's degree at university and come back to CC for extra classes, I highly recommend taking a class from her. Dr. Santiago is exactly the instructor you need to prepare you for the university experience. She's tough!Expect to spend hours reading your text and doing her worksheets.

Shes extremely unorganized and her lectures dont stick. Tests are tricky and almost all of the grade. If youre looking for a teacher that prepares you for the next class or even help you pass her class. This is not the teacher for you.

Hybrid- She's tough and expects you to spend 5hrs on a 5 question worksheet. The worksheets help so much for the next class. She's very specific about what she wants and will help if you need it. Get to know her likes and dislikes and your time in her class will be pleasant. Lastly, just do the work and you'll get good grades.

I am a bio major and I recommend her for other Bio majors. Her class is meant for people who want to be there. She is a tough teacher because she wants you to learn and not just memorize material right before test, which I respect. Dr. has been one of the most inspirational teachers I have ever met.

Dr. Santiago is very thorough in her lecture and makes sure you understand it. She is available outside of class to and is willing to help no matter what level you have. This class is super hard but she will work with you and tell you what sources you should use to prepare for the test. Her tests are hard, that's why you should do the worksheets!!!

Prof. Santiago was such an amazing Bio teacher. She was very down-to-Earth and made lectures interesting since she makes sure you understand the material rather than read the slides. The homework takes very long, about 5 hours per worksheet, but they're made that way so you understand it all perfectly. Take her if you're serious about science major

Overall she is a respected woman, Dr. S knows what she's talking about, but I had to teach myself everything bec the class was unorganized. Bio is difficult to learn and she missed class right before our final. Hw takes approx 5 hours per assignment. Regardless of hw and labs, the grades you get on tests is the grade you get in the class.

Taken as a summer course and she was incredibly disorganized. The class often had no clue which assignments were due when because she kept shuffling the schedule. Her powerpoints do not help at all and if you take her class expect to teach yourself the material.

Most disorganized class I've ever taken. She was hard to get a hold, huge ego, and rude. She favors people who have taken her before, she just isn't a helpful teacher and probably the worst class I've ever taken. I would definitely recommend another teacher!

Very strong personality- not a bad thing, but she does have a control complex. Very knowledgeable but I never felt comfortable to ask her additional questions, the way she taught was confusing and I feel she would be better teaching higher up BIO classes. A little sarcastic and at times rude. Would recommend her if you're a BIO major though

I had Dr. S for lab only. Textbook not needed for lab, not sure if she requires it in her lecture. Weekly 10 question quizzes, a couple homework labs and a couple in class; easy work load. Often let out of lab early so I suggest having it as your last class of day. Strong personality, strict rules; but if you follow them she's a great professor.

Currently in Bio 181 hybrid, she is a very nice lady, but for a hybrid course, she is very disorganized and difficult to rely on. We have had two exams so far and the week before BOTH exams, she sent out an announcement stating due to an emergency she would be out of her office and unable to answer questions.

Had her for Marine Bio, i would take this again if i could, She was very professional and serious about the topic and educating. She had great information and even greater stories to tell. Was not an easy class but i learned alot from it. (hybrid class)

Professor Santiago was one of the best Biology teachers I've had. She's extremely helpful and centers her office hours when they are the most convenient for her students to be able to attend. The worksheets take roughly an hour at most to complete but full of interesting material. Essentially if focused and involved in the class, you'll pass. :)

Dr. Santiago is a great professor and really knows what she is talking about. The only thing about having her for a hybrid course is the work load is a lot more than you would expect and it's tough. If you have time though and not a heavy schedule, take Dr. Santiago's class.
