One of the best professors to talk to and super relaxed in class discussions and helps a lot one on one. However, she grades really hard and it is difficult to ever get a good grade on a paper.

Really an amazing person and teacher. took her global ren class expecting to fail because im terrible at history and writing. the class is only reading and then writing based on it. the papers are a little difficult, but she consistently helps. She even lets us text her for help. Shes very passionate and funny and will go above and beyond.

Most of the work comes from the readings. There is a lot of reading. There are only 4 tests, she changed them to 2 essay tests, 1 map test, and the final exam. You must know the material and be very good at explaining it with specific details like names, dates, places, statistics if you want to do well on the tests. A challenging class.

I liked her as a person a lot but I found he lectures boring and long. She would want you to take notes on both what she says and the powerpoint at the same time and it is extremely difficult. Her tests were all short answer and essays and were extremely hard.

I've already rated this teacher but if you get a chance to take her and Dr. Crowe's 'Science, Magic, and Medicine, do it! Very interesting class and due to the typically small class size you get tons of feedback from both professors on papers. 4 papers assigned but you only have to do three. Downside: it is ALOT of reading for this class.

She is super nice and very helpful. She expects you to read the book and there is a lot of reading. There are three test and the final is not cumulative. She lets you bring in outlines for the essay questions and there are four quizzes. She tends to teacher a lot of material and expects you to know dates. She will kept your interest.

If you like History, take Dr. Mollenauers class. If you don't, you may want to veer away. She a great teacher with very interesting lectures but if you aren't a HST major this class will get very hard, very quick. If you like to read alot you will do well. Though if you are a fan of Monty Python, you will LOVE her classes.

Yes,she does tend to teach like you are a history major but she makes the class fun and interesting. Very approachable if you have problems. Power points directly reflect what will be on the test, just be prepared to read ALOT. I would definitely take one of her classes again. DO NOT BE LATE! She will make you sing.

This was a fun class but very hard. LOTS of reading. If you do not like to read or are not a fast reader do not take this class. It is all discussion so if you don't read she will know. I enjoyed the class though and learned a lot.

I hated her. She had almost random tests and had an awful policy that if someone gets up to go to the bathroom (for any reason other than throwing up), everyone gets a pop quiz.

Mollenauer (half a year later, I still can't spell her name) is a *compelling* lecturer, it was an *effort* to fall asleep in her class. Maybe it's just the history nerd coming out in me, but she was so interesting and very witty! There is a lot of reading, so be prepared to work, and the tests are quite challenging--but she prepares you well!

Amazing teacher! History is my number one worst subject and she actually made it interesting because she enjoys it. The tests are a little hard, with lots of memorization. However, she doesn't grade as harshly as I had expected. I needed help and she offered to talk with me after every chapter I read and discuss it. Great teacher.

If this class was a higher level history class, all the work she gave would be understandable. We had to read three really boring novels in short amounts of time including textbook reading. There is way too much reading, and also her idea of "major concepts" involve you having to know what SHE wants you to say. Wast't willing to help.

Dr. Mollenauer is a fantastic professor. She is extremely nice and willing to work with students. I really enjoyed her teaching style, she's very engaging in her lectures. Her tests/quizzes are fair and she really helps you study before hand. However, I do recommend keeping up with the reading. You'll do well if you do :)

Roughly 120 pages in the text and +/-80 ID terms for each test. It sucks. That being said, Prof Mollenauer is AWESOME! Very intelligent and easy to listen to, she brings her own commentary and witty humor to class. Also very helpful outside of class and lenient with her grading as long as you attend and participate. I would recommend to anyone.

Very demanding class. I attended every day and still struggle on the test. I spent 8 hours in the library the night before a test and felt very confident and got a 70 on the test. You can get by with sleeping in her class because her lectures are barely on the test; as long as you do EVERY ID she gives you and MEMORIZE them for the test.

This has been my favorite class so far at UNCW! Dr. Mollenauer is known to be tough, (which is obvious when you see where she went to school) but at the same time she is extremely helpful and fair. She wants her students to be passionate about history. If history is your thing or you are prepared to put in the effort, I especially recommend her!
