MARILYN IS AWESOME! She's extremely helpful, she pushes you to be better than you are, and she'll encourage you when you doubt yourself. She knows every childrens book ever written, and she'll point you toward some outstanding ones. She may seem gruff at first, but she's really very kind.

She is very buddy-buddy. She will cut you off mid sentence to ask you a question or correct you. Very unprofessional. Does not lead by example. She expects you to give her respect and rave about her, but she will not return the favor. The only thing I would suggest is suck up to her to get a good grade.

Extremely unprofessional when commenting on others projects. Stopping people in mid sentence and askig them to just sit down b/c they are doing it wrong is not proper feedback and goes against modeling appropriate practices in the classroom. If she likes you she focuses a lot of her conversations toward you and ignores others. Too buddy-buddy.

I love Marilyn. She feels like family since she is so personable. She tries to match students up with books, trying to find something you are interested in in the Storytelling & Children's Literature class. She will love you even more if you love reading, she is trying to raise everyone's love of reading. She wants you to do your best.
