Akasaka sensei is the worst teacher in Edmonds Community College. You have to spend at least 5 hours everyday on her daily homeworks and daily quizes. She gives tones of homeworks. If you are even 1 minute late to the class, she will not accept your homework. Literally she wont accept it. And she would always say I dont care. DO NOT TAKE THIS.

If you dont do the homework and show up for class you wont pass. The class isnt hard if you do all the work, but their is a ton of work to be done. Sensei is nice and a good teacher but you have to participate and put forth effort.

Overall I really enjoyed HER as a person , not as my professor. This class was extremely anxiety-inducing to point I wouldn't want to come to class, but your grade will heavily drop if you miss a class. If you take this class, I would read ahead in the module to be prepared to what is going to be discussed in class.

Akasaka sense is the worst teacher in EDCC. She is a very traditional Japanese!!! She has strong militarism mind. She always says many things about racial discrimination especially for Chinese!!!!!

Akasaka sense is a rude teacher. She never respects student. Also, she does not allow student ask question in the class!!!! In her class, you have to turn your homework on time. If not, she will give you 0. I am a International student, I expect I come here for studying English, but I feel like I am study Japanese for main language!!

She gives you attitude for no reason and gets really annoyed at people when they don't know the answer. She verbally harasses people and is very rude. She won't let you ask questions and expects you to learn a whole new language within the time she teaches. She won't let you take the quiz even if you are a second late to class and gives you a zero.

Comment:

Very funny in class. Doesn't use canvas for her grades so they may remain a mystery til the very last day. Japanese is a tough language but she does her best to make it fun. Extra credit is given occasionally. If you need the help she will always give it, just show up to her office. She gives a practice final which will get you extra credit. Great!

Akasaka-sensei makes unintentionally offensive jokes at students that don't study enough or come to class enough, even when with real excuses. When you try to reason with your excuses, she simply says "I do not care." She also does not post your grades online giving unclear clarity and is unclear during lectures as well. A very difficult class.

Akasaka Sensei is an amazing teacher. She can be strict, but if you pay attention in class and actually try to learn the material she's very helpful - Especially if you're struggling. Make use of her office hours if you fall behind. Can be funny, but you have to understand her sense of humor. Would take again if I had more language requirements.

Sensei is a wonderful teacher! I always looked forward to going to her class! Although the homework volume is rather high, all of her assignments are helpful and essential to passing quizzes. There are weekly quizzes, but as long as you do the homework, it's an easy A. Only one test, and that's the final. I definitely recommend her!

She treats students differently. Very hard and rude on the students she does't like. Endless homework given. She gave me a big 0 on a hw because I copied down the questions on textbook, which had kanji in to answer on a separate sheet of paper. If you want to take this class, make sure listen to her requests fully and keep up so she likes you.

There was this student who was absent because of medical reasons, so he was far behind. She humiliated him multiple times. Sometimes she gives useless homework, but a lot is helpful. She doesn't post grades online, so I didn't know what my grade was till the end. This had me freaked out for a while because I missed some assignments.
