Professor Mosbo was very unclear when going over information and expected that we all knew what she was talking about. She would tell students to look in the textbook when they asked questions instead of explaining it to them in class. Tests and homework assignments were very difficult.

Comment:

Mosbo is a kind, nice lady. She is willing to help and has office hours often. However, her teaching technique is not remedial enough. I understand it's Calc 1, not remedial math, but she glosses over far too much. You can write down everything she has on the board, but if you miss one sentence she says out loud, the homework makes no sense.

Great teaching! Does not take homework as a grade only test and quizzes. Give extra credit quizzes for a couple point. She gives recommended problems from the textbook. You should do these if you want to pass the class. Explains any questions you have with clarity and is extremely helpful. The labs are extremely helpful and preps you for quizzes.

She is nice and the class is easy, but sometimes she makes it out to be much harder than it needs to be. If you keep up with the online hw you will be fine though. But please do yourself a favor and don't take this class at 8am like I did!

I love how she clearly lays out every step needed in a mathematical process, however, sometimes she dumbs it down too much, making it more confusing. She makes corny jokes, but they are cute. You can tell she loves her job very much. Homework is online which is expensive, but really handy. Quizzes every week, but drops lowest three.

She is a very clear and nice lady and helps with any questions that you have. Her class is very easy and I found myself falling asleep most of the time because I already knew the material. Easy Tests and Quizzes. If you need a math Gen Ed take Mosbo!

I dont know what's up with the bad comments about her, but SHE IS AWESOME! She gives mini quizzes everyday(which helps your grade), quiz every week base on mini quiz and hw (most like like to be 3 or 2 questions) 3 Exams (which she gives review sheets) Presentations of the hw is extra credit... The Question is: Why not taking Prof. Mosbo?!

I enjoyed stats with Mosbo. She made things easy (at least until the end of the semester). Lets you use note cards on the quizzes, a cheat sheet on the tests and 3 cheat sheets on the final. Homework and 3 projects and minitab use as well. Study hard and you will do fine.

Magdalena is so sweet and she is great at her job. Never have I understood math so easily as I have with her teaching me. She gives a variety of different ways to earn extra credit, and quizzes and tests always reflect exactly what had been taught.

She was a fantastic professor! Extremely helpful, both in class and out. I absolutely loved her class--it was my favorite of that semester. Explained things very clearly. Short quizzes every Friday, some extra credit, and exams based off of the quizzes. Final was based off of the exams, and there weren't any curveballs. Clear grading as well

Best calc professor here. Short quiz every Friday based off the homework, 3 exams based off the quizzes, and the final is based off the previous exams. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Sometimes collects homework to help your grade, so be sure to always complete it. Recommended for any calc class. I had her for calc 1 and 2.

Mosbo is arguably the most reasonable Calc. professor in the department. Gives a very clear grading system on the syllabus and doesn't stray from it during the semester. Homework is not mandatory but is highly encouraged as it is helpful and sometimes used as bonus credit. Quiz each Friday, 3 exams + final. You are well prepared for exams. Solid.

Comment:

Mosbo is a good teacher that I would recommend for Calculus. She grades fair, and doesn't put ridiculous questions on her tests. Do the homework, you don't have to turn it in but if you do all of it and seek her help with any problems you can't do, you will know exactly what to do on the tests/quizzes. She grades attendance.

She allows cheat sheets for almost all of the quizzes and tests. The class was difficult, but she went over everything more than once. She is really helpful if you go to her outside of class. A great teacher.
