Screenwriting is her thing. She may be blunt, but she's always right. She's super fair about deadlines. As far as personality, she's actually quite funny if you get it out of her. I get that she can seem cold at first, but I think screenwriting is where her personality comes through. I really respect her opinion and her humor.

Prof. Bruen is a very nice person; however, she does not explain clearly (AT ALL) what she wants in her assignments. I went to do my hw most days after the class at least somewhat confused, if not very.

Prof. Bruen, is a tuff teacher & she wants things her way which she feels is the right way. Dont argue with her just take her advice and accept it,she knows what shes talking about.If you get past her short and direct personality shes really not hard to please.Dont even bother showing for class if you walk in late your screwed.

I had Prof Bruen for two classes, writing for tv and film history - and i really liked her! i thought she had some really good insights - i especially enjoyed her in writing for tv. she's tough, but a smart lady! and if you do your work well, it's not hard to pass her classes.

She is by far the worst teacher I have had at this school. She never made clear what she wanted, she seems like she'd be a horrible/boring writer and her criticisms are vague at best and her suggestions only encourage mediocrity and predicatable, formulaic writing. Bah to her...I learned nothing!!
