Horrible teacher. don't take her. I suffered writer's block for several months after taking her class! don't waste your time. doesn't give feedback. just says you did a bad job. She doesn't care about teaching. She shouldn't be paid for such mediocre bad work. She isn't even a good writer and little to no instruction.

She's really open to talk with and if you have a problem she will help you. But be prepared to go to writing center if you need further help. She wants work to be on time and you can give a reasonable excuse to further extend the deadline.

Very good teacher. You can skip class but you wont want to because youll miss something. Usually works in groups. Lots of editing. Gives great feedback. Do the work and try your best and you will pass. Very engaging and her students respect her.

It's awful. I did't learn anything. She does't spend fair amount of time on students. she complains about students in front of class. Information she gave us were sometimes wrong. She is very stubborn and made us believe her believe is only the answer. She basically gave us tasks to do, but didn't teach how to do. Canvas organization is confusing.

Let me just say that English is one of my favorite subjects. However, it doesn't matter how much you love the subject or how strong your writing skills are, Harvey just trashes English. I know I'm just a student, but everything she lectures are wrong! I feel as if I'm in a middle school class. I only missed one class out of the semeste too GMFU

Not sure her expectation on the essays. Instead of helping you personally after class or in office hours, she just keep telling you to go to Writing Center. And she just want to listen or see what she expect, not accepting new ideas. Never gives out clear essay direction as my Engl-1A professor..

I took this class is the fall of 2013. Professor Harvey is an amazing professor. She grades hard because she cares about students. This is not a class for lazy students who just complain about the work and grading. Do the work, ask for help, and go to the writing center. This will improve your writing and attitude towards her.

At first, I thought I was going to love this class and professor. But as time went on, she become less approachable to students and easily irritated. She can be inconsistent with what she says, especially with the prompt for the research paper. Do not be shocked if she's abruptly suddenly. She doesn't have the patience needed for this job.

DO NOT TAKE! Almost impossible to get an A in this class. She isn't clear with expectation or directions. Her grading is extremely tough although it isn't very difficult to get a C in this class. Also, she never seems in a good mood which made the class less than enjoyable.

Don't let these reviews fool you. Don't get me wrong her grading was pretty harshful. Not a whole lot was done. If you keep track of what she wants you should be fine. But she has pop quizzes based on the book we read. About 6-8 essays in total and a research in the end.

She started out as a great teacher and I got an A+ on my first assignment. however she did not clearly explain what she was expecting in our work. I had to reread the syllabus most of the time. she made us buy a book that I used once. if you expect to do the minimum and be fine find another teacher. she is a tough grader. Her class is easy if you keep up deadlines, but she sets her syllabus in stone and is unwilling to change. I'm a good student and have done all her projects, but now I'm going to fail because I forgot a rough draft. She can be nice but I think her way of grading is utter BS. We never use textbooks and she never taught me how to write better either
