no actual group projects- But do yourselves a big favour- form a study group outside of class to go over & discuss the material(that was supposed to be)covered in class- as this teacher doesn't do much teaching. Unprepared w/ a $100 + textbook that he hadn't consulted before class-all texts in the syllabus were avail online for free. Avoid.

His teaching style is outdated: there are no visuals, just taking notes about what he says, and grading criteria are often vague. However, it can be adapted to. If you come to class, pay attention, and go to his office hours, he will recognize that you care about what he teaches. Note what he consistently repeats, it will likely be on the exams.

I took this course because I love poetry. We barely talked about poetry, as he talks more about his personal life and irrelevant examples. Gets defensive when you ask a question and will never give you a concrete answer. It is impossible for him to give us proper instructions on what the final paper/exam will be. Do NOT recommend.

Lectures are non sensical. Grades don't correlate with work provided. He made the class write a 12 page essay with 15 sources for 15% of the grade (without any useful instruction in poetry). Takes attendance, made us purchase $150.00 book that doesn't even have the sources we need in class (Google was more helpful). Not worth it.

Nice overall. Outline can use some work. For example he should split the texts into Classical/Romantic/Victorian and not abbreviate the names of the works so they are easier to find. An interesting English class; Not the same approach as CEGEP (new critical). Cannot recommend if you have issues attending class. No class notes, traditional lectures.

He glides around in lateral thought, having a lifetime of contemplating literature from multiple languages to use as Bernoulli machines. During one lecture, he began to glow a mixture of orange and beige. If you are into wisdom, take the class. The material you can read by yourself, it is rare you get to listen to a passionate madman riff.

Dr. Moghaddam has a lot of experience of 30 years and plus where he has stories and hilarious jokes that he adds in the introduction of the course material in most of his classes. There is no space for you to relax in his class . You must earn your grade by simply listening to his classes and by participating to his class discussion .

actually the worst teacher i have ever had! very unorganized; rambles on for hours without any sort of lecture cues, isn't clear about expectations on exams; he does not teach; he rambles about his credentials ; his teaching style is not accessible and everyone in my class was constantly confused! will never ever take one of his classes again.

When I began attending Concordia University, I was unsure if I was in the right place, if I had chosen the right major, a blizzard of uncertainty. I was a lazy student not willing to put in the work. Eventually I came across professor Mogahddam, his dynamic lectures brought me to have a passion for literature. Hard work pays off, you will enjoy it.

The teacher is knowledgeable & passionate about the subject. I learned a lot. He answers many questions in class & his office hours. The research paper I would recommend talking to him in advance & continuing to ask questions to follow up. If you get stuck, he can help. He is caring & the support is there if you ask for it

Dr. Moghaddam has over 30 years in teaching experience and is a great professor to have. He has a lot of experience, stories, jokes and advice that he will share with the class to introduce the material. Every class, he'll do a recap so we gradually remember. If you're willing to put in the effort, he is an amazing prof and mentor to have.

I would definitely not recommend this professor. He was boring and rude. He was also very disorganized. Took weeks to give grades back. All he did was talk, no visuals or anything of the sort. He stood in the front of the class and talked the whole time, that was all.

He is not accessible at all outside of course hours, and does not give assignments back. He lectures the entire course but I learned a lot in his course. I did my readings in class because he lectures very slow, but I also learned a lot of things that I had not learned previously. If you're patient, he's worth studying with.

Talks down on Religion and Women - also makes zero sense during lectures. Get ready to teach yourself if you want to pass.. And no such thing as asking questions in class, he cuts you off and makes you feel be-littled for having an opinion that's not his own. All around a horrible teacher and not a very nice person.

Took as an elective. Class itself was easy enough - 10 or so short stories (all of which could be found online, don't bother buying the books), straightforward midterm, essay, and a final just like the midterm, but the prof is the WORST. Boring, unhelpful, unclear. Ended w a decent grade but suffered and dreaded going to class. Avoid if possible.

This dude is the worst prof I have ever had at Concordia. In his lectures he rambles about his personal life endlessly. He is afraid of class participation and gets defensive whenever anyone tries to ask a question. His assignments are ridiculous. Avoid his classes at all costs.

literally told an intro english class that they shouldn't try to be original in their understandings. the opposite of what every other prof in the department is trying to teach. really really bad.
