Comment:

Dr. Dorraj is really great but he's sometimes hard to understand. His class is LECTURE HEAVY and if you don't know how to take notes, you won't pass. His tests aren't hard, multiple choice, true/false and an essay. He's really helpful in office hours. His lectures can be pretty boring if you aren't interested in the stuff he's talking about.

DO NOT take this class if you do not know how to take notes. He does give a lot of reading assignments, but honestly your test will consist of two questions form the book. Everything else including the essay portion will come form lectures. His paper is easy just be detailed he doesnt grade for grammar or format. You will be graded on details.

Comment:

The most boring lecturer Ive ever had the displeasure of taking. Very nice and caring man, but not a professor in the slightest. You will feel like you are understanding everything while taking the class (albeit boring as all get out) but on the tests essays you will not pass. If you dont put every single thing he wants, you will not pass.

My biggest issue I have with this mass is that he assigns book reviews and research papers that are completely unnecessary. He doesn't give a reason why he wants you writing 20 pages of which he'll probably only skim 2. He spaces out his exams randomly. It's easy to disengage. If you're looking for structure and active learning, do not take.

Dr. Dorraj is very intelligent. The class isnt difficult as long as you put effort into the projects, BUT, he has no problem injecting his personal political views into all of his lectures, which I found very inappropriate. If youre conservative minded, be prepared to bite your tongue because his facts are weak at best in many cases.

The class grade is based off of three energy briefs, a timeline, a 25 page research paper and a written 20-25 page final exam. He's a slow grader and there's not a chance in hell he reads the last two assignments. Your grade is either the four previous grades or if he knows and likes you gives higher grades to people he likes over those who earn it

Dr. Dorraj is an awesome professor & is incredibly intelligent! Attendance is not mandatory. However, if you want to do well you should go to class. There are only 3 tests (pretty easy if you study) and 1 book review. He requires a lot of reading, but it is up to you if you really want to do it. Manageable A if you give a decent amount of effort.

Dr. Dorraj aka the sandal man at first seems like a pain in the rear professor, but is actually one of the nicest professors I know. He does have his downsides not tech savvy and lectures can be a bit boring, but he is one of the smartest professors if you are looking to learn a lot take him. Get to know him he will help you go far. Manageable A.

No joke just like everyone else states this man is one of the smartest people I've ever met. Very nice and understanding, but at times can be unclear about specifics in his assignments. Get to know him and it will help you out a lot. 3 Energy briefs easy. 20 plus page paper easy but time-consuming. Final 15 page easy but during finals week.

Dr. Dorraj is the most adorable and most intelligent man on this Earth. It is true he talks fast and lectures may get confusing, but he is more than happy to clarify anything. Type every word he says, it made all the difference for me. He is absolutely on your side and cares so much, and WANTS you to succeed. He is your best resource! TAKE HIM

Comment:

Dr. Dorraj is one of the smartest professors you will ever meet. With that being said, his classes are tough, especially upper level classes. Midterm and final are the only tests and require hours upon hours of studying. Usually a research paper and a presentation, which both require a lot of work as well. Definitely hard, but you will learn a ton.

Dorraj is an awesome professor. He is extremely approachable and personable. PAY ATTENTION TO LECTURE! If you pay attention, take good notes, and study really hard for the tests, you should do well. Read the book and write a halfway decent research essay and it'll be an easy grade boost. Just work hard and you'll do well.

Very Hard Class. Dont get me wrong, Dorajj is a Genius! However he is also very hard to follow and often goes on tangents. His tests are also fairly hard as well as he expects you to know every little detail. While I learned alot, It is not worth taking if you are taking 15 hours due to his ridiculous research papers and tests.

His developing nations class is hard. No other way around it. You have to take really good notes. Recording lectures helps the most. Tests are all essay, make sure you study at least a week ahead of time. There is a final 20 page research paper. But if you go to him for help, he's more than willing. He's just a really really smart guy.

He is the wide knowledge prefoessor, gives a lot of good example in class. willing to help student. He changes the structure of his test to help student get higher grade. However, it is not an easy class to take if you an non major in Political science.

Dr. Dorraj is a very nice man. He really wants his students to succeed. Sometimes it is hard to follow him and it can be very confusing. The book is very hard to understand but you have to refrence it on your tests and they are all essay. He does help you to understand the material. You will have to work hard for your grade but he is a great prof.

I had his international politics class and it was pretty good. His tests aren't that hard if you know that material he lectures on. The format of his class is good because he has an outline for everything.
