Great teacher! Does whatever to make sure material is understood. If you put in the effort, it's noted & that's really what he wants to see from you. Answers any questions you may have & goes out of his way to explain. Always accessible outside of class. Very down to earth. May be nice but clearly sees if you are taking advantage of his kindness.

He has no patience and rushes through the chapters and constantly makes mistakes on the board and when somebody points it out he would say "my bad". But yet when some one makes a mistakes they get penalize.

Stay away. Horrible instructor. No patience or tolerance for teaching. Doesn't really teach, just brags about how much he knows statistics and how much money he has in stocks. Very unhelpful, rude, uncouth. Stay away is my advice.

Very rude to students who aren't as good in math as other students are. On day 1 of the class, he made a snide remark about how some students are too dumb to take 131, and have to take 012 first. I was highly offended since I was one of those dumb students. I eventually dropped the class due to not understanding anything he was teaching.

I liked this teacher. After just finishing 151 with a diff prof this semester, I've realized how easy and more than fair he was. If you have questions, just ask after class. He can respond to Qs a little harshly, but I like how he does plenty of examples. Tests are easy (duplicates!), final isn't bad, homeworks are veryy minimal. Apply yourself!

He is an amazing teacher! As long as you follow his rules he has no problem with the class. As long as you are on time, do NOT text or play games, and actually do the homework he is a wonderful teacher. I would recommend taking him for his math classes.

Professor Shah is a great teacher. He has no tolerance for people that come in his class and wastes his time. I think that he explains the material very well, and if you have any questions he will help you after class. But DO NOT use you're cell phone in the class, he will put you on the spot. I highly recommened this Professor. :)

I took Statistics with Prof. Shah (Spring 09). Challenging class, but I enjoyed it. He made statistics interesting. We used several technology helps such as Excel & StatDisk, but only the graphing calculator could be used for the tests. His explanations augmented the textbook work. From this class, I understand the language of statistics.

I have never had him for a teacher. However, he has been a great help to me in the tutoring lab. I am not a math person, and I would like to say farewell to the math department after this semester, therefore I hope that I come across him again in the Math Lab.

If you have the choice, do not take this professor. At the beginning of the semester he said all tests will be open book and homework is graded on whether you tried. He started grading the homework on right or wrong without warning. He did make us feel dumb like was said in other comments "dumbing" it down for us. You can barely understand him.

Please do not take this man if you need statistics.The worst professor I have every had. This man plays favorites among students. He tells his students that his going to dummy down the test; THAT'S really encouraging students to want to learn statistics. I could say more, but his ratings from myself and others speaks volumes!

I loved him, He is a very good teacher and wants everyone to succeed his class is fairly easy not like other math teachers. He does not like rude people and he is very funny. He does expect you to know the basics such as the pre-alg classes which everyone should know he will also go over and over a problem until everyone gets it which is good!!

At the beginning of class, he had us fill out a questionnaire for a purpose. He made class simple. Homework counted as points toward tests, which was very helpful. He showed us ways to solve problems in addition to what was in the book. You had to attend class and do homework to see that it was the same material that was on the test. Worked for me
