Dr. Duffy is incredibly smart and lots of fun in class. Talking to him in his office is totaly amazing. He is great at drawing connections between the literature he teaches and the other things in civ. He is very helpful and kind and has a great sense of humour. Really knows his art, too. Very sweet guy. Exelent choice for 2nd year civ!

personally i love duffy, but not everyone feels that way. loves my writing so i get an A, but he can be difficult for others. reading quizzes are always announced and reading isn't too much. i love all his favorite writers too, so if you like graham greene or people who write about boston you'll love duffy. chill guy.

Duffy -- Where do I begin? Nice guy and a little odd. His lectures are a little disorganized suggesting he does little to prepare before class and that drives me crazy. Overall, a good guy with a good eye for literature.

overall not bad...is a smart man who tries to make things accessible and interesting, although he faces a tough test in soph civ. tries to speak to students in ways they can understand, instead of sounding pretentious and confusing us more...good choice.

Duffstar is awesome! In addition to being an incredibly brilliant man, he makes himself very accessible to students. Duffy is comfortable with talking to students like normal human beings -- his easy going personality is one of the best things about him!

he likes to get up early so at least he's awake for 8:30 classes unlike everyone else. likes to give reading quizzes but they're usually announced, tests aren't too bad, but the term paper sucked my will to live. can be condescending but is a nice enough man and tries to be helpful.

Duffy is the man. He taught on my honors civ team with NiNunzio. His lectures were good. He's a bit flakey, but it is a nice change from the super serious analytical minds that you usually get for civ.
