Really did not care for this teacher at all. You can't understand what he's saying. You can only miss three classes because he takes attendance. He lectures on things that aren't even on the test. You have to read the book if you want to understand anything in this class and get an A.

He was great! He is very wise and has an amazing sense of humor. He had a TA who did most of the lecturing (she was great too) but together they did a great job. The only complaint I would have is that we watch too many documentaries (which are boring). There's 10 page paper to do but other than that it's a great class. I recommend it.

He's a great proffessor and knows his material. I really enjoyed his lectures but hated his power points. The tests are hard but he does curve the grade. The paper is long but easy. You have to attend class or your grade will suffer by deducting points. IF you read the book you should do fine.

His tests are difficult and study guides aren't that helpful. I recommend still doing them tho plus reading the text book. His lectures are very interesting and he is very passionate about teaching. I learned a lot from this class. Also, he curves tests.

beginning of the semester he lectures every day but then after that it seemed like we watched a documentary that took up two days each. He has curved both the tests, but the study guide didn't help me on the second one. He takes roll every day & i'm not looking forward to the 10 page paper.

very rude man. my bestfriend passed away due to cancer mid way throught the semester so i missed a couple days he had no sympathy and yelled at me about my attendance. HORRIble professor

I really liked his class!!! he is down to part time now, but honestly cared about the students. The tests were sorta hard and a lot of work, but he pays attention to you and knows everyones name, and a good sense of humor too! i liked this class a lot!

His tests are hard and the study guides do not help much. He curves test scores which helps everyone out. There is one 10 page paper and then you write one page papers on a few movies you watch. His lectures have nothing to do with the tests but he takes roll.

He is very interested in this class. test are ok if you study, and paper is not that bad. you must attend class. He curves on a curve. i got B's in all exams and on the paper.. At the end, he i ended up with an A in the class. but i think he retired now..

He is an ok professor, when i took him he graded on a curve. The test were pretty easy, he gives you study guides for the test, which are really really time consuming, but they help. The essay is 10 pages with 15 sources (he gives you a choice on the topic) so if were you do it early on just to get out the way its easy.

His class is kinda difficult, challenging, and very interesting. You'll learn a lot through his lectures. The tests can be a little challenging, but if ya do the readings then its really easy. The only thing is the 10pg paper, but its not hard if ya start on it earlier then last minute

His class lectures can be boring, but his class is SO EASY! Just make sure you go to review days and read the book then you'll definitely do well on the exams. Can be hard to understand him sometimes because of his strong accent. He had us write a 10 page paper, but it was SO EASY. He probably doesn't even read the papers. Got an A++++ in the class

going to class is a waste, but go because he will drop you if you miss more than 3 days. He gives you a huge study guide that takes hours and hours to complete and then none of it is on the test. Class consists of boring lectures and a ton of pointless moves. The average test percent for my class was a 46% and he doesnt curve!!!

Starts out tough but gets a bit easier in the end, a few papers, tough tests but graded very fair. I wouldn't say that it exposes the USA as a country based on hate...sounds like the person who posted this just has issues...looking back on this class, it wasn't half bad.

Comment:

Some of the subject matter is a bit skewed to make minorities always look the best, but Dr. Figueroa is a nice guy. I liked the way he taught.
