Wasn't the worst prof/course I have had but definitely not the best. He is not meant for teaching. The powerpoints made no sense, his lectures were boring and I could not make a connection between readings and lectures. The grading was extremely reasonable and relatively easy to do well in.

Potentially the worst professor I have ever had. And Im in fourth year. Horrible teaching style. Would rather make his class present the material instead of doing it himself. Essentially, the class could have run without him... AVOID AVOID AVOID

Horrid professor. Really. I can't fathom how he's still teaching at this university. He's lazy. He's unapproachable. And worst of all, he's managed to turn one of the most interesting topics in global development studies into a SNOOZE FEST. Thanks professor Epprecht! Because of your lectures, I've finally found a cure for my insomnia!

I'm pretty surprised by the reviews on here - I really liked him as a prof. He's energetic, intelligent, and adds the right amount of personal commentary to his powerpoints. Loved the distributed layout of the class, made it easier to do well. Exam was fair (but marked hard, which may have been to lower the high class average).

Lecture slides aren't posted before class, and usually not immediately after class either. He randomly takes attendance via Tophat. Nothing was marked before week 11. He initially said that the final exam would be based on 20-25 terms and ended up providing a list of over 40 terms to study.

Prof Epprecht started off the term presenting lectures well, but it kind of fell apart towards the end. The lecture material was really interesting (as were the guest speakers), but the final quiz was only on the readings, and none of the lecture material. Cool course, just not an effective teacher.

Very disorganized, lazy and unhelpful. His class had an interesting topic but he presented the material in a boring matter. He is a very harsh and unfair marker and does not discuss marks or the way to get a better mark outside of class. He is also not very approachable.

Epprecht is literally the most useless prof in the department. Teaches an entire semester of the course by presenting fifteen or so topics and not tying them together in any way. So lazy, rushes through material on the first lecture of the week so he can cancel the remaining two. Destroyed all interest I had in the subject. Absolutely terrible prof

Very lazy. Thats all I have say- he decided to cover 100 slides in one hour and then cancle all remaining lectures for the week- terrible prof- TERRIBLE! Gives off the vibe that he has just escaped from the pen and just wandered in. Readings are intensive and interesting, sans the fact that they have nothing to do with the subject.

Marc is obviously very educated in what he teaches but lacks organization in how he teaches. Started out the year as a mumbler and very incoherent however there has been much improvement. The class has absolutely no direction, he is a terrible and opinonated lecturer who teaches a class that is about nothing. Every single thing i have done in the class I have learned from DEVS 230 which i took last semester...
