Professor Berry is really funny and she keeps you engaged in class. The work is not too hard, but you definitely have to put in work. She will take off points for any spelling and grammar errors, do be careful. She is really helpful and if you email her or talk to her in class, she will help you.

People are complaining about professor Berry because she's hard, but she is far easier than other pub comm professors. She is helpful, easy to talk to, and GRADES FAIRLY. Of course you have to work for an A and actually practice your speeches ya dinguses. Over all, great professor. I would take her again.

Very meticulous professor. Can be overwhelming but after you take her class you will be glad you did because she teaches you the foundation for all of the other comm classes that you will need to know. You won't regret taking her!! Learned so much from this class.

Dr. Berry has high expectations for her students and is fairly strict in the sense that she doesn't let people settle for less than their best. After every speech, she gives thorough feedback which helps you to improve a lot by the end of the semester. The class also includes a fun service learning requirement helping elementary school kids.

Dr. Berry is a tough grader but she is also helpful & respected in her field. She has a quirky sense of humor & will help you if you ask. I'm guessing most people that found her class hard didn't use her as a resource. I was able to get an A- in her honors class with a lot of work but minimal frustration. She is the worth the work, and a cool lady.

This is not an easy class but it's manageable. She is super strict on grammar!!! She's a really nice lady who wants you to do well in life and in her class. Few small presentations and paper's. The tests are pretty easy-basically know the terms. Not a difficult class if you do the work

Berry is a GREAT teacher! You learn a lot from her but she is a stickler for grammar. She cares about her students and provides opportunities to practice speaking in real life. Very practical and useful class!

Come to class, keep your speeches within the time limit, read the book, study for the test, practice a couple days for the speeches, apply for the Western Regional Conference thing (free 100% on most weighted speech!), and you'll be fine.

I was surprised at how nice she is as well as how easy her class was. The raters made it seem like you had to bend over backwards to get an A when you really don't. All you need to do is PRACTICE. To prepare the class, read the end-chapter stuff. You can use the online site (found in the book) to study for tests or for the class (save money?)

Berry is actually a very nice lady. I was rather afraid before taking her as comments on this site made her out to be somewhat of a witch. Intro to Comm is not the most exciting class but it's mandatory. Never skip class its minus 5 points. Make sure your papers are perfect its 1 point for every answer. Overall you'll survive, trust me.

Marcia Berry = Fail. On a stick. She's horrible. You learn nothing, you work your butt off, you get harshly, harshly graded. It's not worth it. Only my friends got me through. If you like life, take someone else!

Intro to Comm Studies - not much of an "intro" class if you ask me. Her tests are impossible. She's the only one who teaches this class though so you're kind of stuck. 3 huge tests and lots of small papers. For the tests make sure you READ the assigned readings and just participate in class. She's very nice & a great professor just a little tough.

She is a very hard grader. VERY hard. She takes off points for every little thing, like if you made a grammar mistake or if you move too much/little during a speech. She does make the information clear when teaching and is a very nice person, but when she is grading, it is really hard to know what you are being dinged for.
