I loved Professor Patton. Biggest advice is go to her office hours for the folder assignments. She is such a nice lady and really knows what she's talking about. She actually cares about each student and if you try you will get a good grade. Her midterm was kind of hard but the majority of people did bad so she dropped it. Very fair.

I loved Prof Patton! You definitely will have homework but she is such a great professor. There are only 2 tests and the final (which is easier than the 2 tests) but folder assignments which do take some time. She is SO helpful though and the material she teaches is very interesting! She also never reads from notes so classes aren't boring.

Patton is great. You do have to read a lot but all of the articles are current and really interesting. There are four folder assignments which have to have five article analysis in each but they are not a lot of work and interesting to write. Highly recommend the class.

Although her exams are slightly challenging, she will never give you a bad grade as long as you put in the effort and talk to her if you're struggling. Seems unapproachable at first but she actually is very nice.

Marcie is an incredible teacher. She has spent a lot of time in the Middle East, so she actually understands the culture surrounding the class she is teaching. Yes, she expects you to do a lot of work, but her grading is pretty lenient, and she has completely gotten rid of assignments because my class asked her to. Definitely take her classes!

too much work. she acts like this is the only class your taking in the semester. she plays favorites. she just wants to hear her viewpoint and thats it. you have two projects due at the end of semester that are time consuming and pointless. avoid her, there are much better politics professors such as cassidy, orman, and greenberg

Nonstop papers. There's one due every week. There's a 20 pg research paper due and you still have to write the weekly papers while supposedly working on it. Crazy and unnecessary workload. Take her if you hate free time.

Biased against the West, but come on, what do you expect? Assigned readings also contain biases that have not gone unnoticed elsewhere in Academia. Very hefty workload for a 100 level class; only take this class if you are willing to write 50+ of essay in a semester. She is passionate about the subject , which is interesting in itself

I learned so much from her class, but it had a heavy workload. The tests (3) are not bad but you HAVE to study. The portfolio and the group project will take up all of your time at the end of the semester. An A is possible, but you need to work for it. Take her if you have a light semester and ready to learn a lot.

I think she may have a serious problem with the United States...or at least it seems that way, but aside from that she is a good teacher. Knows a lot about the middle east and her tests are easy if you go to class and take notes. She seems nice too.
