I do not recommend to students who are looking for professor who helps you to improve your writing skill. He talks about his personal stories than studies for class. During conference, he just tells you what he thinks about the paper but doesnt explain for help what I should fix for my paper.

He lets you write papers the way that you want to instead of worrying about formatting. His tests are hard because you can't really study for them but he doesn't give that many of them. One of the best English professors I've ever had!

Dr. Sheffield is an amazing professor. He hates the typical 5 paragraph essay and is more interested making the papers fit our own personal style. Quizzes and tests are few, and the tests allow for a lot of openness and freedom in how we answer. 10/10

I had a 80.13 % However, after the final he made the course evaluation a mandatory 20 points. This wasn't in the syllabus, eclass, or an email. (Just an oral announcement in class) I completed it a day late and he wouldn't accept it (even though finals week is still ongoing) I now have a 79.64 % I accept responsibility, but refusing .4% is cold

He's cool, but for non-English people he's a tough one to figure out. He changes the syllabus frequently (especially for Biblical Literature because I don't think he prepared very well), he grades essays basically on whether or not he likes your style, and he's inconsistent. Class & workload are light and he's inspiring. VERY EASY B, but TOUGH A.

Funniest professor I've ever had. He's quirky and his lectures are a bit of an acquired taste but he's about the chillest guy you could take a class from. He's a little A.D.D. but certainly is never boring and he always covers the material before wandering off. Nice guy who wants you to do well. I would recommend him!

I really enjoyed Dr. Sheffield's class. I took Comp 2 from him. He is definitely an outside of the box teacher, which I really enjoyed! You do not need a book for his class. Instead keep and go over all the handouts he gives you. Take good notes!!! This is KEY to passing the tests. Write as much as you know for each test. He grades very fairly.

TAKE COMP FROM THIS PROFESSOR. He is honestly the best English teacher I have had. Very kind and understanding. I had him for Comp 102, and when turning in my research paper, he let me come back to him three times to make sure I had the articles right so I wouldnt loose points for that. He's understanding and I loved his class.

Very easy class, as long as you do the assigned reading. Daily quizzes are on very basic things about the reading, so if you read at all, you should do ok. Attendance is taken for points. Tests are multiple choice straight from the lecture notes.

He was funny and used a lot of really good illustrations in class, even riding a students skateboard (never having ridden before) to make his point. his grading is easy along with his tests. he goes over all papers with you one on one which is really helpful.

This guy is the best! So easy, random humor but some of his comments will crack you up. The only thing is that his tests are all T/F and he does quite a few trick questions. BUT he goes over it with you afterwards and gives points back if you don't think he graded fair. He does all his grading, not his readers. He's great :)

This teacher was great. I totally recommend him to other students. He was VERY easy going and does his best to be sure that everyone can actually pass the class if they just (1) do their work and (2) ask for help when they haven't been. lol
