Lecture is nonexistent. Book is useless to understand when lecture does not exist. Exams are only difficult because it reflects how professor teach or not teach students anything. No point in doing homework or even bothering to show up for class. Only for those who are experts in programming. Beware!!! in favor of females regarding grades.

Comment:

Undue emphasis on tools instead of clarity on understanding logic. Class instruction was too much of a departure from text -having said that though, if I had to choose one I'd pick the lecture as my guide. I felt at times, instructor lost patience with student questions.

The class sessions are inconsistent and ill-prepared. Much of the classwork was groupwork created as needed to fill time. Each test was presented in a different style: one was Scantron, using questions she didn't cover in lecture; the next was completely freeform, testing techniques she didn't cover in lecture. Well, there was some consistency.

Everything was grate until final. The time for the final wasn’t enough. I don’t know if somebody get A, 3 students got B, some C, rest of them got F,. We tried to go to dean, but it didn’t help. So now it is your choice!

WARNING: Programming experience will not help you in this class. A passion for drawing pages and pages of tedious flowcharts based on vague assignments might, but not much. She once criticized me for declaring the variable 'i' in a loop because "this ain't FORTRAN." She's not even very computer saavy, and her language of choice is Visual Basic.

If you truly want to learn VB, learn it yourself. Don't take this instructor because she thinks computer programming is so easy that she doesn't bother explaining anything properly in accordance to lab assignments. She gives simple lectures but unbearable assignments and exams hardly anyone passes. Now you know why jobs get exported to India.
