Makes you write long, single-spaced papers. She cares so much about grammar rules that if you have more than a few mistakes she stops reading and sends your paper back. Once you to read and respond to 300-page books in a one week. Only good thing is she doesn't require many discussion board posts.

Such a nice lady. She assigns a lot of "study guides" which are actually just really long chapter summaries, you never have a test. They're a lot of work but she lets you turn them in late without much credit taken off. Keep up with them or you will hate yourself. Super easy grader when it comes to presentations.

I took her online class with her over winter break. You have to finish long study guides for every chapter in the 600+ page book, watch 12 videos or lectures and write response papers to all of them. This is not a blowoff course. Be prepared to work very hard. Not a lot of feedback from her. I would not want to take a regular class with her.

She is probably the worst professor I have yet here. She is not very clear in what she wants, attendance is graded and so is participation. Exams are impossible if you don't read the book in its entirety. We had study guides, but they were very vague in what she expected. If you are interested in Asia, take this class...she's obsessed

She is definitely quirky. Do not miss her class, every time you miss a point is taken away! HEAVY textbook use, and the book is a miserable read. The class is moderately easy, not a lot of opportunities to get points. Participate, because if you don't the grade will kill you in the end. Don't have to take final if you take all four exams.

Tells you the exact questions that will be on the test. However she teaches the class very strangely, instead of chronologically it's done topically. Very sweet lady. Passes around attendance sheet daily so go to class.

Tests are 108 M/C out of 100 points. However most questions are giveaways. Heavy use of textbook about 70% of the test is from the textbook. She is a specialist in Asian History and Culture. Book is authored by Asian Specialist and a majority of chapters heavily mention Asia. Too much of the class is Asian based for being a World History Class.

Pretty good prof, my main complaint is how critical of a part participation plays on your grade. I got A's on pretty much everything but ended up with a B overall...hope you like to participate.

Despite the heavy use of the textbook Dr. Denning is a very good professor. She is clear in her descriptions and provides you with organized information for taking notes. The only downside is that her tests are long and have a lot of information and requires you to really study.

Pretty easy class - but you HAVE to participate or you will drop a letter grade. Only 1 paper. She reviews every single question on the test the class prior to it. but her teaching style is just a little off.. videos and pictures are a huge part of tests

This class bad from the top down. The book was used mainly because "it has nice pictures". The class failed to address key areas during the 20th centuries such as World War I & II as well as the depression... those topics combined were discussed in less than 30 min. However if your choice is her or Matamabanaza... I'd prob go with her.

This class is easy if your competent. You get 50 points just for attending class and participation. For EVERY test she gives you EVERY question! So yea maybe her test does has 100 questions, yet you have the opportunity to look up the answer previously. She also curved every test by about 5 points. Only 1 paper..2 pages..take this class!

I really don't get what all the bad reviews are about. Yes, she's strict, but she knows her stuff, and as long as you actually try and don't screw around, she'll like you just fine. Format your work EXACTLY to the syllabus or she'll deduct MAJOR points; if you're confused, talk to her after class. Written work is pretty much done mid-semester.

The class overall isn't that bad if you pay attention and read the chapters. Yes there's a lot of reading out of the text book but, it's important if you want to pass the tests. There's more questions dealing with the chapters than the lectures on the tests.

Dr. Denning was such a nice professor. Her quizzes are quite hard but if you do well on your presentation and other assignments you are set. There are no tests which is also nice.

Dr. Denning is really not bad at all. She gave us an extra ten points on all of our tests, which gave me all B's. It's a lot of reading, but if you're not lazy and will read what assigned you will be fine. I was expecting the worst after reading the comments about her, but it turned out to be one of the easiest courses I took last semester.

The woman must have a doctorate in running a VCR. Get this, we were tested on World War II, but one little problem; she never covered it in her lecture! Not once did she ever mention World War II, not once did the words “World War II” came out of her mouth. Roosevelt? Hitler? Mussolini? Never mentioned! Never mentioned. Okay we all know the t
