Comment:

Unlike most of the people here, I'm a premed student, so his stuff didn't go over my head. That having been said, his class was still boring, he doesn't allow electronics of any kind, and attendance is mandatory. He only lectures and there is not discussion. He's a nice guy, the kind you'd like for a neighbor, but in my opinion, a terrible teacher.

I would highly recommend avoiding this professor. He is very articulate and everything has to be done to the precise measurement or it must be completely redone. He uses the phrase "helping you to realize" or some other form of it over twenty times in one less than three hour class period.

I would rather gnaw off my own arm than take another course that he teaches... COM140 - was taught at a graduate level. Syllabus unclear, information disorganized. No coherent class plan. The course was terrible! I recommend NOT taking any online course offered by this teacher.

One word: paranoid. Had to run to the bathroom after handling batteries. Worried about "acid" getting him. Convinced students are trying to take over his computer. Extremely paranoid about plagerism so all assignments are very detailed and time-consuming. Very knowledgable about the subject but he tries to put too much into one lecture. Stressful!

Ridiculous at times. Required knowledge of the metric system because "we're all going to use metrics." PUhLEEZE. And give a speech in character. C-mon. I'm 38 and have three kids. I don't need to play dress up. Also, won't give back your papers until after the year is over. Saturday class --don't do it!!! Required field trips. Too much work!!!!!

Very boring, we're constantly taking notes and end up missing the few slides that he shows. At our mid term exam, he gave us a pop quiz to take home over break. What a snoozer!

Mr. Gilbert is a tyrant. His class is so difficult and can be extremely boring at times. The final exam was 200 points with four long essay questions. Avoid this professor at all costs!
