Lecture is key. Does not provide any notes. All test questions come from the book or her tangents in class. Lectures are not clear either. Worst class by far at UB. Yet biology majors have to take it. Went to office hours, recorded lectures, re did homework- still got a C. She is also the rudest professor. Asked for help turned away.

I worked for Dr. H on a collaborative biochemistry & molecular genetics project that was published with her help with the University of Nebraska--Lincoln. She is a very witty, wonderful and kind human.

I only say participation matters, because for this class, she teaches the lab portion of it, and if you go to the second day of the lab lecture for each block, then she gives you all of the answers to the lab flat out.

Very unprofessional. I went to her office to drop off an assignment and she happened to be there. I attempted to say hi, she then proceeded to scold me telling me she was on the phone with a colleague, then had the audacity to "usher" me away with her hand. She should close her door if shes unwilling to see any students. Rudest professor at ub.

Dr H, un approachable. I went to ask her few questions, while it WAS NOT her office hours, after question 3 she said its been few questions, made a me feel very awkwardly uncomfortable and clear that she does not want me there. I took lots of classes at UB, sure all professors work there, like here. But no one treated me like that before. AVOID!!

Taking Genetics with both Gollnick & her? Quit while your ahead! Worse 2 professors I have ever had at once! I believe they hate & backstab eachother. I would recommend students take the online genetics at UCBERKLEY. It is much easier and if you are planning on going on to professional school you want an A and with how confusing this professor is…it is very hard to get it!

Tough professor and attendance is required because she writes notes on the board. Her exams require you to apply concepts taught in class - but 20 points is taken from homework problems. Do the homework and study your notes and you should be fine - same goes for Gollnick. Decent lady but her lab section is THE WORST. avoid it.

Great professor. Super caring about her students. Bio 130 is the most easiest A class anyone can get. If you don't then you should go back to grade school. She gives the answer to the labs after the class so just stay til the end of the lab it will help you answer all the lab questions.

The only good part of Bio 130! She was kind, cared about her students, and very helpful. Her lab lectures were actually interesting but none of the info is ever on the tests :( She always stayed after the labs (they ended early always) and answered all the lab questions. Loved her. Great professor.

Try picturing a female biology professor. You're probably right on target. Beat up old Nike running sneakers, mom jeans, white turtleneck, ugly brown tweed blazer, and a hideous hairdo. Writing all those notes were annoying, and missing one lecture screwed you up big time.

Not a bad professor, but not the greatest. Sometimes her exam quesitons can be confusing and sometimes she doesn't explain things well in the lecture, but overall she a decent professor, and is very willing to help outside of the class. As long as you take good notes and keep up with the material, the potential to get an A is there
