Comment:

Reminded me of a high school math class where teachers actually teach and engage the class. The ZYbook she assigned was awesome. Class is demanding with assignments, expect late nights. However, time/effort translates heavily to performance. She's very open for questions, clear expectations, fair grader. You'll learn a lot. 10/10. Take if you can.

Professor Iwobi is extremely knowledgeable and is helpful/approachable outside of class. Used a class listserv where students and TAs alike could assist each other with the assignments. Very rewarding course - I learned a lot and left with a solid foundation in programming. She is the reason that I became a Computer Science major. Highly recommend.

This class was way too hard to be an introductory computer science class. I wish I had the other professor teaching CS110, maybe then I wouldn't had to cut all my other classes just to get to her and her TA's office hours just to have enough time/help to complete projects on time. Her lectures are very boring, but you do learn a lot from her. She is very helpful in her office hours, and you can also email her questions. She is also a fair grader, and the tests are relatively easy. Definitely read the book though, it's really helpful especially on the tests.

I did learn a lot from this teacher, however when it came time to the final project this teacher did nothing to help out. I had a 100 average through the whole class and she gave me an 81 on the final which was next to perfect. I dont understand how a teacher can take a 100 average for homework, participation and tests and make it a B. DONT TAKE CL

This class was so hard to me that I actually gave up on it the second lecture I attended. Even though I tried to understand and learn the material by attending all the lectures and reading the useless book, it didnt help. It would be better to take this class if you have any program experience.

Class isn't that hard if you have an interest in programming, but Iwobi is a horrible teacher. It didn't take long to stop attending her lectures. The assignments are very very time consuming though. Only take if you have to, or love Java.

I am an alum so this may be dated but Iwobie was among the worst I had at Binghamton. Her classes were more boring than sawdust. Also when I did go to her for help I was frequently turned away unanswered. I will tell you this- she is very fair. She frequently made deals that if you did well in her class she would transfer you into the Watson school

A wonderful individual and fantastic teacher. Very clear, prepared & posts slides. So kind, helpful, and merciful in office hours (and her door is ALWAYS open). Class is challenging and you will not be spoon-fed, but you'll have what you need. Put in the work and you'll have an A. Other profs should have to meet her teaching standards.

horrible professor.She ignores the students who are struggling in the class as if her class is only for advanced programmers.The assignments she gives are way beyond what was taught in the class.she wouldn't listen to students suggestions.She tries every way to get you frustrated and screw your GPA.
