Comment:

overall an all right teacher. A lot of interest in certain students in class. Can be difficult to understand what she is accually trying to tell you. Can be contradictory to herself, in later classes. Does however speak from personal experience and talent which is always admerable.

Comment:

McCann is an intelligent and engaging person, full of interesting ideas and always available for discussions on all sorts of topics. As a teacher, she is not professional (ie lateness or not showing up for class, disregard for lesson planning, personal remarks to students and/or whole class) and imposes her own (limited) vision on student work.

Comment:

Margaret McCann is truly interested in seeing her students achieve their personal vision in their work. She is eccentric in the best possible way, seeing the value in things that are unique. She made the fundamentals of color and drawing interesting and attainable, by engaging me in a very direct way, by taking an interest in me. What a gift for a struggling painter, a gifted painter and teacher like Margaret! Shame on BU for letting her go. She really rounded out the dry old school.

Margaret was a great professor. She had a real flair for communicating with students- plus, her knowlege of color was head and shoulders above most profs at B.U. (and, at least when I ws going there -SFA 97-, was a very fine, if overpriced, school.

good person... thoughtful and humorous. could be more responsible in terms of leading a class and being prepared to teach. I'd want her as a friend; for a good teacher, go to Reddicliffe.

A rarity at BU. She thinks outside of the box, somehow makes you believe in your own abilities & is incredibly supportive/inspiring/intellingent. My art reached a level I didn't know existed in her class! She's what a professor should be! Big loss for BU!

greatest teacher ever! not only is she an awesome artist, professor mccann is insightful, helpful, inspirational (if only we could all be so passionate about something)and she has a great sense of humor. i would recommend this class to everyone.

Margret is a wonderful teacher with a good sense of humour. She will keep you laughing all day. Her teaching style focuses on craftmenship but also creativity. She inspires us to find ourselves in our art and not to be bogged down by the academia way.

Prof. McCann is always willing to spend extra time with each student. Her teaching style is unique yet extremely effective. Not only is she extremely intelligent but her postive attitude kept me going when I was ready to quit. I reccomend her highly.

One of the best professors at BU. Margaret encourages each student's individuality. Excellent at helping students pursue/develop their own imagery. My sense of color improved drastically. Wonderful teacher and person.

She's not helpful at all.... she just walks around and says comments like "groovy" that don't help you improve your painting at all. When she shows slides or we have a crit, she never stays on topic. I didnn't learn anything in this class.
