Torrell IS AMAZING I thought I was never going to be able to write a decent paper till I took her class. She is great SO SO SO Caring and wants to see her students pass, progress and succeed. If it wasn't for Torrell I would be lost! its a lot of reading and writing but she helps you through it. Make sure you hand in work on time and participate!

Dr. Torrell is the best. She is caring, smart, funny and great to work with. She is also an excellent advisor if you can get her. Her feedback is spot on. She is always fair but will push you to do your best and you don't even realize she's pushing because she does it so nicely. Mama Torrell rocks.

Exciting. Dynamic. "Mama Torrell" as she is sometimes known, makes you work hard but gives you all the support you need. Best teacher in any college I have attended. Smart, funny, organized, caring. And she's the chair of English so she looks out for you in advising. Take her class!

Best professor ever! So happy she is also the English chair. Everything is basically spelled out for you. If you do the work, you get a good grade. If you have any issues, personal or academic Professor Torell is there to help you through and give tips on keeping up with your work. I am glad and lucky t have had her.

Torrell really is one of the best. Knowing of her reputation, I said, let's see what shes all about. She challenged me big time, but I liked the challenge. But she really did take the time to help out. I was often the butt of her jokes, but I had a good time. And I saw the disabled community in a brand new light. Highly recommend her to take.

I took two of her classes and she is an amazing teacher. I graduated with a B.A in Special Education. Professor Torrell is the most dedicated teacher you will ever meet. She has taught me how to be an understanding teacher and to never give up on a student. I suggest if you have the opportunity...TAKE HER!!! = )

Professor Torrell was not only one of my favorite professors, but also one of my favorite people in the Old Westbury community. She's a professor who radiates sincerity and interest in her students, and will do whatever is in her power to help them out. I would find myself working harder on my papers, attempting to impress her.

Professor Torrell was amazing. She never game up on her students (e.i.-allowing several draft revisions with her comments). Her teaching methods were on of a kind, characteristics that every teacher should have, but unfortunately don't. she was awesome!!
