I've had her three times so far for EN301,EN429,EN430. She does know a lot and she is one of the sweetest ladies you meet. However, my view in her class is that it goes slower after taking classes where we get things done and work together working at a quicker pace.

She's a nice lady, i'm sure but she was incredibly boring. I took Shakespeare with her and all she did was read the plays to us and then explain what she thought of them and how she FELT about them, no facts. She would often go off on tangents about how she imagined the characters would dress on stage, it was pointless.

Take Shakespeare and Chaucer only with Sister Maria! She is the smartest person I know!She is extremely kind-hearted and gentle! She is the best professor at GCU, she represents the college in her graceful dignity! You must meet her and talk to her at least once in her life! She is above and beyond words!

Twenty years after graduating, I still look back at Sister Maria as the best teacher I've ever had. She was the first person to teach me that it was okay to take writing seriously -- a concept that changed my entire life. A gracious and inspirational lady.

Nice lady, but sooo boring. Class participation is 2/3 of your grade but she never gives you a chance to participate. She lectures for hours and doesn't give breaks. Her teaching method needs to be a bit more progressive.

I've taken every class that she has taught... She is very caring and I REALLY learn alot from her classes... it just takes some time to get used to her teaching style because she is very quiet and makes up her own grading scale... lol other than that she really cares about her student and is willing to help them as much as possible. I recomend her classes to everyone because I guarantee you will learn something

Did not like her or class - too much emphasis on verbal participation,paper topics were unclear and ridiculous, will not tell you what your grade is in the class until the very end,so you have no way of knowing if you are doing well - made me feel as if I could not succeed as an English major,sorry Marylovers but she's old - RETIRE!

Sister Maria's classes are AWESOME! She truly cares about her students and their thoughts. Sr. is the most loving person I have ever met, BUT you have to go to class on study day, final class is extended, AND she makes you recite lines from Shakespeare and Chaucer. WHY???? Some of the classes were a bit painful, but all in all a good experience.
