Montoya was a great professor! Really nice and truly cared about her students. Did not follow the syllabus at all. Homework from the textbook was not hard, however, her take home tests were difficult. Make sure to participate in her class. Offers tons of opportunities for extra credit. Due dates are very lenient with her. She helped me with Spanish

hard to understand, doesn't stick to syllabus at all. makes everything confusing, goes way to fast in Spanish for a 200 level class which has a lot of freshman in it. if the class doesn't do well she gets mad.. meanwhile she can't teach to save her life

lots of writing (in Spanish obviously), very easy to talk to and helpful, doesn't really stick to syllabus, a little confusing to know what is due at sometimes, more grammar homework in the beginning of the year but as things get busy she slows down with the work, sometimes recieved different grades than students with the same answers-strange

Professor Montoya is great. Her class isn't awful as long as you put in the work for it, it's definitely not an easy A. She goes really slow during the course and only continues on once everyone has a good grasp of what's going on. She does give a lot of homework but I find it beneficial because not a lot of practice is done in class.

Prof. Montoya is great. She has a syllabus but is flexible with it, seeing how the class is doing on each topic. The class is mainly doing activities out of the textbook but she will explain everything thoroughly and will spend a few days on material if she needs to. The class is about grammar so expect a clear cut rubric.

Professor Montoya was a great professor. This class was very reliant on the textbook but it was a good and helpful textbook. I would definitely take her class again and am planning on taking more courses with her in the future. She is a great professor and always ready and willing to help.

Montoya is an excellent professor. she cares a lot about her students and gives tons of extra credit. the work for the class is average and good amount in order for you to learn the material. Love taking Spanish courses with her and would definitely take her again

She's very sweet. She gives some take-home tests but DO NOT procrastinate; they are insanely hard. She sometimes takes the class in her own direction rather than what you are supposed to be doing but all in all a good class.

Comment:

Montoya is the single best prof I've had at this school. She's so encouraging, and actually inspired to take on a Spanish minor. She gives ALOT of extra credit, and is willing to help you wherever you need it. However, you do need to go to class in order to get credit for participation. SHES AMAZING TAKE HER CLASS.

I took the Spanish for Native speakers course, she's a great person and wants you to get involved in the community. She's very unorganized and due dates are unclear. She goes through lectures very fast and expects you to pick up all of it. Tests were okay. In this class she went through all the Spanish grammar you could imagine.

Professor Montoya is a wonderful teacher. She makes class interesting and is very helpful. Makes students speak Spanish everyday and there are many presentations in Spanish. This class is difficult but not if you work with her. I recommend taking any Spanish class with her if you are interesting in learning Spanish.

I have taken multiples Spanish classes with her and I am so grateful to have her as a teacher she has helped me improve my language skills every step of the way and she is so motivating. If you ever need help just go to her office hour she will help you with no problems. She is definitely one of the best teachers I have had!*

I thought taking 102 wouldn't be too bad but she treated us like we were 300 level students/native speakers. She went way too fast and didn't fully explain anything that we did. Due dates and assignments were unclear and I really regret taking this class.

This class was filled with tons of lessons, which were taught WAY to quick for beginners! It was hard to learn one thing and then try to re-learn it with another new lesson. We used MySpanishLab.com as the book. She seemed like she was expecting her students to become brilliant speakers in less than 5 months. By all means a harder than you expect!

She's Cool..She makes spanish easy and interesting...Eventhough i m a Chinese. And She's helpful and nice...great personality. Tests and Exams are not difficult. there r 2 presentations: u will be surprised how much u can speak in spanish!
