I took this class in my freshman year and thought it was really hard. But, now that I'm a senior, I realize how much this class helped me in all my classes. Maria is an AWESOME teacher, she cares about her students and really wants them to learn. I highly recommend this class.

very harsh grader. If she doesn't really like you, you won't do well. She gave me a worse grade on my rewrites, esp. on one paper where I rewrote it completely and claiming I only made minute corrections. If you took her class go to the writing center and get ur grade changed. i did and it worked!

This professor is extremely difficult in grading, which is bad for an entry level freshman course. She has a severe, discriminating and condescending attitude that is insatiable. Her extremely liberal comments about everything are frequent, and her political remarks are completely unprofessional.

Her Heros saints and martyrs class is really just a saints and martyrs class. Very heavy on the christian literature, little else. Post-Modern stuff ok. Great person, not so great professor. She'll be a better professor eventually, but for now....
