She is a super hard grader, but just do the work. Also do the readings- a huge chunk of your grade is pop quizzes. That being said, I've called her at home sobbing over my grade and she made time for me and wouldn't let me go until I was okay and we worked something out together. You get out what you put in with her. She's not stupid by any means.

Professor Fankhauser is the most caring professor I have encountered. She is rather tough in her grading but if you do your work it is an enjoyable and fun class. I have learned more in half a semester than I ever did in high school. I HIGHLY recommend you take her at some point.
