Comment:
Dr. Stewart knows what she is talking about. However, she is very soft spoken, and monotonous when speaking, so its difficult to pay attention. Her exams require you to memorize definitions she gives that you can't find anywhere else, and you won't get credit without including specific keywords. Books have some things on the test, but not much.

Professor Stewart is a very boring and dry professor. Tests are very hard, make sure you memorize every single thing on that review. The test will consist of notes taken in class. Write down the EXACT SAME notes she writes. If you need help, she will help you.

Solid Meh. A lot of people will enjoy her dry humor (I did), but some won't. The real issue is the material. It's an entire semester of foundation with no real attempt at going over real world integration. To put it simply - it's boring. And mother of god, take notes, and write exactly what she writes for the tests.

Take notes word for word and take a lot of them. This was one of my hardest class, but you if you put a lot of time into the class you should do well. She is very clear as to what she wants and then you just have to memorize. She can be very funny sometimes and it gets more interesting as the semester goes on.

Simple class. You can make a 100 in the class if you just take down what she says in class and rewrite them word for word on the exam. Class is a lesson in memorization really.

Very dry and boring lecture. I feel like the course should have been engaging and entertaining but got the direct opposite. She speaks very quietly and to do well on the tests you must write down her lectures verbatim. Very strict grading in that regard. Definitely the worst class I have taken at UTD as I am in my Junior year here.

Very dry, boring lecture. Does not speak up, hard to understand. The tests are you regurgitating the definitions she gives you in her exact words.

Memorizing notes verbatim is a must and lectures are very boring. She has a very dry sense of humor, but is a nice person overall. Be prepared to study countless hours for the exams. Oh...and "in your opinion" questions are not "your" but "her" opinion.

I've taken a class with Dr. Stewart every semester that I've been at UTD. She expects serious grad-level work, which makes sense because we should be here to learn, not just to "get a grade/degree". She has taught me a lot.

Amazing class, could not ask for a better introduction to PhD level research. Professional but perhaps intimidating to some. (She is actually quite nice) Very demanding class, you had to work for it, but you were damn proud if you got an A only downside is time to get grades back (she wears 3 hats and is insanely busy)

She took a subject as interesting as political behavior and made it completely dry and uninteresting. Her exams required perfect recitation of her words in class. Her class was one of the worst I've had in my academic career.

For the 1st few classes my notes were horrid. Everything felt like lead up to the real point. After the 1st test, I figured out that every word counts and you ace the essay tests when you can put together her lecture with the seperate text material.
