Comment:

Disrespectful. If you say something that she disagrees with in the slightest she will ignore you or make you seem like the dumbest person on Earth. Dropped her class even though I believe I had a decent grade (A/B) because her attitude and the workload were just too much. Don't do it. Save your sanity and choose another professor or even major.

Only cares about a select few students, and finds it funny when half her class drops and the other class fails. Doesn't think there is anything wrong with her teaching style, despite people constantly bringing issues to her. An unreal and unnecessary number of books and readings. Impossible to keep up. You have to read extra.

100% hardest teacher/class I have ever taken in my life but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Keep up with her, ask questions, and respond whenever you think of something to add. She has high standards and she challenges students to meet those standards because she knows we can. If you want to REALLY learn, take Strassberg.

Wicked smart and doesnt like people who dont prepare-I think she ate one last year. Maybe people think shes inconsistent because she holds the line and others do not. U work U learn U pass. No matter what I am better prepared nowbut it was painful.

She is very intelligent. However, she does have favorites. If you're not one of the lucky few, she makes you feel like an idiot when you talk in class. She is a very critical grader. It can help you write better papers, but I feel like she does not grade fairly or consistently. Be prepared to question your writing ability.

She is very intelligent. The workload is intense but as long as you pay attention in class and complete the assignments you will pass. She can be intimidating but I have never learned more from any professor at AU. If you want an easy A this isn't it. If you want to get your money's worth of knowledge then this is the class to take.

This teacher is brilliant, but incredibly strict. The papers are insanely involving, and she does everything via email a bit annoying. She definitely singles out people she doesn't like and picks her favorites. I hope i never have to take a class like this again. Beware this is a tough class and not for the sensitive.

Very Hard class but totally worth all the work! I enjoyed the material and class discussions. She is a hard grader but her class has improved my writing skills. The assignments are clean and she follows the syllabus very closely. She is always available for extra help and questions. She checks email frequently and answers promptly.

This is the greatest teacher I have ever had. SHe is absolutely brilliant. However, if you are not in the class to learn and you do not keep up with the reading you will not enjoy the course. If you show her that you have the will to learn and the will to do well, she will do anything for you. She always makes it a priority to be available.

Strassberg was one of my favorite professors at AU. Those who are not interested in sociology or who need a soc class for gen. ed. don't bother with her classes cos you will hate it. She has a passion for what she does, she is challenging and stimulating
