Very funny and sweet. Tough grader and does not really do much teaching. Still, it is refreshing to go to her class after dreadful college lectures, even if its not easy to do well.

She's really funny and nice, but she didn't always explain things clearly and I had to spend a lot of time on my own figuring out things that I felt should have been given more attention in class, given that they were main concepts. However, she was engaging and the course itself was well organized. She's approachable, but only answers in French.

Madame Fortin is very kind. Her classes are hilarious. They are full of joy; and at least I felt very much at home there. But of course we have to always check mycourses to make sure we do the assigned homework for the tests. But after all, learning anything requires work; there is only so much she could do for us in class.

I do not recommend her if you are taking French because she does not explain well and she expects you to know whats going on. French is very hard and should be given a lot of attention ... she is good at making jokes but even her jokes get boring. If you are struggling in french do not take her. she doesnt make things better.

Comment:

One of the best teachers I've ever had. As a graduate student and a high school teacher myself, I'd say Ms. Fortin engages her students extremely well, which can be hard to achieve for a language class. Even though the class itself is very intensive, her teaching style makes it feel like a daily treat rather than a burden. Highly recommended.

She likes to keep things easy and informal, by making jokes. She makes you participate in class in a good way that even if you do not work your brains out, you learn something from class. She really helps you and want you to learn... A very good professor!

Took this course over the summer, and was a breeze! Marie-Josee is supper friendly and funny and makes the class really enjoyable. She explains the grammar as best as she can and is super approachable!

I took this class over the summer and really liked it! 8:30 classes can be brutal but I really didn't mind getting up for this one...She was very engaging and kept the energy level really high. She had really high standards and might be considered subjective at times, but overall I think it wasn't so hard to do well in this class if you keep up

I took her 8:30am class for a year. A fresh, funny start of my day. She is increadibly funny and you get to talk a lot in class. Get the hang of her testing style: She may give a lot of importance to small details of people's presentations(names&dates).

I have been taught by at least 40 profs in 3 countries, and I can say with no doubt that this is the best teacher I have ever had in my life. Very very skillful in running the class. Moreover, she knows how to deliver knowledge. I have taken a 3 hour class with her everyday, and I have never felt bored :) I was so lucky to take a class with her!!
