She is nice and wants you to do well. Is there for help but the class is way harder than anything I've taken here at Lehigh. Maybe I'm French-impaired, but I struggled hard in this class. Must have textbook. Will have daily homework. Lots of essays, makes you watch movies out of class time, and tests are pretty difficult if you don't work for it.

The work for this class was way over the top, the syllabus said 3-4 hours of HW a night, it was closer to 5-6. The one test wasn't a reflection on what we were working on and the entire class was shafted in terms of participation grades. Definitely take Chabut instead if you can.

For an intermediate french class, this was much more work than I expected. Daily homework, 5 essays and 5 quizzes a semester, & chapter tests as well as a 4 o'clock and final. This being said, all the work was completely necessary and I learned more than I did in 4 years of advanced highschool French. Takes you back to the necessary basics-helpful.

She is the one of my favorite professors I've had in my 2 years at Lehigh, despite that fact that her class was not as easy as I expected (usually French is really easy for me). She gives A LOT of homework but she is the nicest lady and she really wants her students to succeed and have fun in her class. Take advantage of office hours, she likes it

By far the most helpful and caring professor I have had at Lehigh. More than willing to help you and if you go to her office hours she definitely reflects the extra effort in your grade. She has a genuine interest in the success of all of her students and is more like a mom than a professor. Work hard with her and your French will improve hugely

Great French professor, although sometimes she has ridiculous mood swings that are reflected through her grading. Cares about her students. Gives an insane amount of COMPLETELY pointless homework, but makes you upload it to blackboard and I honestly believe you could get away with uploading the same homework assignment every single day....

Prof. Amstrong is an exceptional educator that I have ever met at Lehigh. She challenges students with lots of homework in order to make them learn as much as they can. After taking French 12, I could learn how to study French in order to be really able to communicate with native French.

Gives an insane amount of homework as well as a quiz every friday and an essay or translation every weekend. She is the professor responsible for ending my education in French. I now can't stand a subject I once loved. I also miss Wolfgang now--didn't see that coming!
