Easy class... she's great! Really down to earth and interesting lectures. Her TA Jamie is a raging psycho though, avoid her at all costs.

Awesome teacher. Wonderful person. Most popular instructor in the entire History Department. Gives away lots of test answers ahead of time. Gives extra assignments for extra points; showed films where we would write short ID essays at the end, for more extra points. We wish only the best for Dr. Hegarty in her career. She is truly inspiring.

A joke of a class. If you're majoring in something that takes up a lot of time and needing an extremely easy History GEC, take this class. Pathetically easy.

AMAZING person. If you are ever fortunate enough to have the opportunity to take her class... DO IT. She is truly an inspiration and a wonderful teacher. I did cry on the last day of class. Her course is what "the college experience" is all about.

While I'm sure Dr. Hegarty does a great job teaching Hist 151+152, Hist 526 is her true love. I thought people were crazy when they said they were sad to leave on the last day of class, but now I know what they are talking about. Such an eye-opening class that is low stress. I hate history, but this has been my favorite class at OSU.

Her class is very easy and informational. I would suggest going to every class. Not only will you learn alot, she will also end up telling you what is on every test, and give extra credit some days attendance seems low. She is very witty and interesting.

This class was a joke. I maybe went to 3 lectures in total, but honestly dont even worry about going to the lectures and also dont ever print out her online notes. I got an A in this class just by reviewing the study guide which she posts bfor the exam and **read the text** and never missed a recitation. If u do all these you will def do fine

Never went to lecture and got an A- in the class. Just go for reviews for midterm and do the review sheet, study it, and you'll be fine. Pretty easy class. Exams are take home paper and a small in class part consisting of fill ins, multiple choice, and short essays. Everything that is on test is given to you before hand.

There are major rewards for attending class, as she gives hints about the midterm and final -- especially when attendance in lecture is low. There are study guides for both the midterm and final, which includes ID's for the essay questions. Hegarty is a sweetheart and even though I wasn't looking forward to history, I left having learned a lot!

She is a really nice lady and her class isn't very tough but as far as her teaching ability goes, she isnt the best. she knows what she's talking about but she kinda rambles on and on so its really hard to take notes (which you dont really need that much anyway). I would recommend her class, she is very easy going and it wont be tough

She was really sweet, lectures weren't mandatory, and she puts helpful notes and reviews on Carmen. Exams are also nice: 4-5 page papers that you write at home, and a multiple choice test. She usually gives the prompt several weeks before the midterm and final. I would recommend her to anyone. I learned a lot.

This class is an easy A if you study smart, not hard! Get the info you need for the IDs from the book, and ask Prof. Hegarty & the graders for the answers they want. Just make sure your essays are written well, and MEMORIZE. It should be easy because YOU wrote them.

She is a good professor to have. She pretty much tells you whats going to be on the quizzes and she tells you exactly what will be on the midterm and final. The TA's grade kind of hard, but other then that it is easy to get a good grade. You dont have to come to class but it helps because she tells you what will be on quizzes and other assignments.

The TAs are what made this class hard; they grade ridiculously difficult on the midterm & final (5 essays). If they did not grade so hard, the class would have been very easy as long as you read for the quizzes. She also gives the terms before the exams so that you can plan them beforehand. Class attendance is pointless. Pray for a good TA!

TA's got to grade papers and were merciless. Regardless of your essay answers, they could've been verbatim, and they would've still marked them wrong. No incentive to come to class or to even read, Prof gave IDs for essays before taking exams. Easy to be a slacker and still get a passing grade.

This class is minimal work and easy tests the ta will "review" the answers to the test with you prior to taking it the midterms are 150 and 100 is the paper, quizes are easy if you read the information, 5 attendance points and attendance is completely pointless the lectures are terribly boring
