I thought that her class was way too difficult for a 100 level course. I never skipped class and studied for hours before her exams and ended the course with a B. I felt as though her exams have trick questions with really ambiguous answers.

Comment:

Methods is a boring class, that being said Willet's makes the class go by pretty quickly. Her tests are regurgitation of her lectures. Show up to class, study your notes VERY closely for the exams and you'll pass and move onto 300!

Comment:

I had her for both SOA 271 and 275 in the same semester on the same days. She is absolutely amazing. I would take all of my sociology classes from her if I could. She is so nice and is always willing to help me and I feel comfortable enough to ask questions during class too. I highly recommend her!

I had Marion for 271 & 302. I love her and she is probably my favorite teacher at ISU. 302 (Animals) was definitely difficult, but very interesting. 271 (methods) is boring BUT she makes it extremely easy to understand. her tests were okay, you definitely had to go to class and study!!!

4 Tests. Each Tests got better as time went on. Really strict and tests can be confusing. Must read book to answer essay questions or wont receive full credit. Curved the grading scale because the entire class did so bad. Go to class because notes are given which are what the tests are based on. Wouldn't recommend her for this specific course.

I don't recommend taking her. Her tests consist of multiple choice and essay questions and for the essays she expects you to memorize everything from the notes and deducts an unreasonable amount of points. Went to office hours and had nothing to say to help. She doesn't take anything her students say seriously when they need something.

I took American Family:Change & Diversity. She is a horrible teacher. All her tests are based on what she says & the books, rather than what the power points we look at during class. She doesnt believe in extra credit, she "doesnt have time to make study guides" & when asked for review sessions, her TA held them. i hate this class. dont take it :(

She is nice and I learned a lot in this class. Only problem I had was that I felt that she was very one sided on her arguments about animal welfare. I know she is an activist but for a college course she should remain unbiased and just give the facts. The movie she made us watch and the book "Slaughterhouse" seemed a bit outrageous.

One of my favorite teachers at Illinois State. I plan on taking her as much as I can before graduating. She teaches the class in a manor which is easy to understand. Her tests are extremely easy if you study your notes. Very helpful...knows her stuff!! Definitely recommend!

Willets is an awesome teacher. She is one of y favorites here at ISU. She presents the material in a way which is easy to understand and easy to study for the tests. Her tests are word for word from the notes and not too difficult. Project required was easy once started. I would recommend her to anyone and will be taking her next semester.

Super easy class, no reading required, you'll do good if you come to class an take notes. Easy paper grader and I think there was only 1 or 2 papers. Test are straight from the notes word for word. Interesting class good with powerpoint lectures, very helpful.

I don't know why everyone is saying she is so great. WORST teacher I ever had! Boring lectures. 60% of our class got a D orlower on her first bull**** test. I went to every class and took notes and her tests did not relate. Also,her study guides were terrible. She gave out bad grades for the paper if you disagreed with her. Take someone else!!!

She explains thing realllllly well! Go to class and get the notes. There is no extra credit but she does not bull**** on tests. What is on the study guide is on the test. She is definietly one of the better teachers I've heard about for this class!
